I have the newest version of Origin and ME3 is up to date. The problem have lasted however, so it's not something new. But as the title says, the in-game overlay -- aka convenient cutscene pause -- only works sometimes for me. Is this a known problem, or is it just happening with me?
Origin's in-game overlay (Shift-F1) only working on random occations.

In my experience, you are only supposed to be able to use shift-F1 at certain times. Between Mass Effect 3 and Dragon Age: Origins, I have only ever been able to use it reliably when the game is paused (ie when you hit esc). The rest of the time it may work and it may not but I don't think you're actually supposed to be able to use it during cut-scenes (which is annoying as they can't be paused otherwise) or loading screens. If you can, it is likely some kind of glitch so it is unlikely there is a fix for this.
As I said, this is based off my experience so I may be wrong. I agree that it is REALLY inconvenient not to be able to pause cut-scenes but there you are.
