Why do people care for Nerfing?

If R/UR weapons get nerfed to the point where the are no better than Uncommons...whats the point in getting them?

I don't know why the truth is funny. All the of players that I ever see call for nerfs at pc players. Im not completely sure why but I'm just stating the evidence I've gathered.Lathrim wrote...

Actually I've discovered something. PC players are really the only ones who call for nerfs. They probably get bored not because weapons are op but because playing on pc is just so boring. They think making the game harder will make it more fun but it doesn't and they just can't see it. That why they keep calling for nerfs hoping it will make the game more fun.

Eagle X is OP. We learn new things everyday.

I understand your pain more then you know it comes more from people not playing to many other co op games and believing that it should be different because it is connected to the rpg singleplayer story in a sense

Because rocket glitching would be fine if there was no restriction on power that can be put in players hands. I played a silver match with a friend, and a couple of her friends and well I had made on of the players annoyed to the point they stopped playing for I was an N7 Fury against cerb first place with double the score of anyone else. It made him feel useless. If a good weapon and good class is put in the hands of a good player it makes the game feel stale for other players.
So anyone with any modicum of skill should feel bad because they scored more than someone else?

So if they keep nerfing the guns and such for "balance" why do they keep making the enemies so much harder, it goes two ways, you can have powerful guns and powerful enemies, you keep making the enemies powerful and the guns less powerful and everyone is going to switch to biotics, then that will get nerfed and everyone quits.
The funny thing is it will be a dark day and a real powerful realization when the ones who demand endless rebalances only find empty lobbies or no one else to play with lol

The question is easily reversed: Why do you care if a weapon or power is nerfed?
Because this is a co-operative game, not a game against your fellow players.
The teams success is your success.
If you applied the same logic to other activities, such as a 4 man relay race, are you going to ask for the number 3 runner to carry a breeze block because he can run faster than you?
However this is a game, games are meant to be fun. If your team can achieve success with 100% certainty its not fun, also knowing that there is easy win button makes playing with not so great setups frustrating and takes away enjoyment for unlocking and achieving.
'Easy win button' is going waaay to far. It's only easy on bronze and a lesser extent on silver. Gold and Platinum are challanging. If you can finish it no problem then good for you.
Besides fun is objective. What one person finds fun may not be fun to someone else.
I agree with you, it is my opinion and I don't see why I shouldn't bring it up. You can tell your own opinion aswell. The forum is too hostile against feedback and many users seem to focus on attacking the posters that don't fit their opinion instead of talking about the game.

It's not really a question of them being 'better'; of course they should be. The problem is when they raise the bar so high that they make the other guns look like trash.
Take the Talon for example. It's absolutely top notch; but having one does not necessarily render the Carnifex obsolete. Neither does the Paladin for that matter; despite, technically, being an upgraded version of the same gun.

Balance is important to add longetivity to a game. If every single weapon, character and power in the game has it's own uses, the game will be played for a longer amount of time as there is more variety. Then there's the challenge. Why have Gold and/or Platinum if it is easy when the correct weapon/character is used? It should be hard no matter what you use.
Then why not buff everything to match the "OP" weapons and characters? Simple.
It would remove the challenge from the higher difficulties. You'd fix that by buffing the enemies accordingly. Okay... that is a massive undertaking. Buffing 70~80% of the weapons/characters so they match the most powerful ones and then buffing enemies so it's not an easy-peasy game would require manpower the balance team does not possess.People like u annoy me greatly

That's true and there is no reason why you should not be
able to voice your opinion but when you say "However this is a game, games
are meant to be fun" and "easy win button" implying that somehow,
because certain weapons that are rare and ultra rare are 'OP' and this somehow
makes the game universally not fun for everyone then you have to expect an opposing
argument.

And out of those two games that you mentioned did they do endless rebalances or nerf abilities or powers from long term players gaining them from level progression?
Halo was a much simpler game. Any two master chiefs were identical, and there were far fewer weapons. The powerful ones were usually kept in check by limited ammo. A game like that is a lot easier to get the balance right on the first time.
Borderlands had its weapons procedurally generated, so they were mostly all just statistical variations on a few weapon classes. Finding overpowered weapons was basically the point of the game. The upside though was that there were still hundreds or thousands of very powerful weapon combinations, so variety was still there. Even so the developers still released updates that effected the balance of the various classes.
I mostly play single player games though. Of the ones I've played, a lot of people really liked the way Obsidian stuck with New Vegas after it was released and updated weapon balance. I haven't checked up on Skyrim in a while (partly because it would mean checking up on my mods again and having to read through hundreds of messages from angry mod users asking me to release more updates), but a while back there was some talk of them instituting a system that would let them release balance changes without having to patch the game, similar to the way Bioware can with ME3 multiplayer.
Some of the most popular mods for those games, like Arwen's Tweaks for Fallout 3 and New Vegas, and Balanced Magic for Skyrim, were initially just big collections of balance changes. It's something a lot of players feel is important.
Coop games are more similar to single player games than PvP games. You're pitting yourself against the challenge provided by the game.

classes/Weapons etc need to be balanced between 4 difficulty levels, which I disagree with, but that's the way it is. Most people play Silver/Bronze difficulties AND don't frequent ths board.
With that said, let's take the Pirahna for example. Would I, as a Bronze only player, appreciate or have fun when some level 20 Inf and his Pirahna X comes in and decimates everything?? No. Then I'm not having fun. Easy credits and XP you say? Sure, but I didn't buy the game to have someone else play for me. I bought it for MY enjoyment too.
So now to fix that, it gets nerfed so it not as OP (yeah right) on Bronze, but yet still useable on Platinum. As far as I'm concerned, platinum and gold, weapons should BARELY be viable so you get the challenge of the higher difficulties. Not some OP weapon to score an easy victory.
That level 20 Inf with his Piranha X, is probably playing Bronze and Silver, because Gold and Platinum is next to impossible for the "Average" player. No one wants to play a shooter where it takes a whole ammo loadout to kill one enemy.

They've done a reasonably decent job of this. The biggest problem (in my opinion) has been the lack of bug fixes. We've had the vanguard glitch forever now and it still has not been fixed. How long did it take to fix missle glitching? Things like that should have been nailed down a lot sooner.
The nerfs really haven't been that bad. See Godless Paladin's post comparing all the changes. The two biggest nerfs (in my opinion) were the falcon and the krysae. Both of them deserved it the first time. The second krysae nerf was a little over the top. I didn't use the pre-nerf typhoon and I'm guessing they nerfed it a little too hard, but it's still a perfectly usable weapon.
People just freak out when things get changed. It's human nature.

Develop new tactics of your own. I'm SICK of having all my time playing this game and figuring out strategies, builds, and tactics to do well all to have them ruined by people complaining.
Play more, get better, then use your creds to buy these OP weapons yourself.

Most of the nerfers are US citizens, which tell us a lot about the little big ego eagerness.
