Is it a console/PC thing? I'm on PC and my ageless has no runes, tier 6.
I'm playing on PC. I have gotten Ageless twice, both times it was Silverite (t6) and had no rune slots.
Sounds like it might be another thing that wasn't implemented correctly on PC.

Wait... so it doesn't "Weaken Darkspawn"? That's kind of the ENTIRE reason I switched to that sword fighting in the deep roads.

Where are all the pressure plates I can only find the one in the main entrance.
There is an "Arrow" on the floor in the Throne Room. The Prongs of the arrow are the other 2.

Oh, and since I never responded to the OP - yeah, I figured it out. Throne was clickable, so I clicked and got a codex entry, the pressure plates scattered around tipped me off (combined with awareness of such puzzles from Dwarf Noble origin).

(Ancient Elven Boots!)
The PC version has rune slots... sometimes.

Messy Kills (More beheadings? Brutal kills? I wish I had this for this proc alone)
Increases Hostility and Intimidation (Very useful for a 2H warrior)
2 questions.
What is "proc"?
and Are you being sarcastic about the second one, being useful for a 2H warrior and all?

Enable your berserker rage and the hostility/intimidation becomes even greater.Noble_House wrote...
I just switched to Yusaris for the Rune Slots... it sucks that the two features that are useful (c'mon messy kills fits in that category) are not enabled, while the 'Increases hostility and intimidation' are... how convenient for my 2H warrrior who is already in Massive armour and doing tons of damage - more people will attack him than previously!
Once you master the combat system in this game, increased hostility is actually a pretty decent property to have on a weapon. I don't know about you, but I love it when my 2-hander is surrounded in melee... makes my sweep attack and my holy smite all the more destructive.
Not to mention it leaves my mages free to cast spells without getting slaughtered in melee.

Edit: Ok maybe not. I went back on my first rogue and killed the dragon at level 17 and there were no rune slots.
Edit2: Another thought is the dragon's level is determined when you first enter the palace and is still based on level. This would make sense because when I killed it with my rogue, he died pretty fast for an orange mob.

How did anyone know about this easter egg weapon other than experimentation in throne room? Was there hints on a codex tablet anywhere? Spoiler link on how to get dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Ageless
Found it on my second playthrough, with a mage. It was the first time I'd really gone into the throne room. My party stood on the square and it lowered...
That's the kind of thing that prompts a gamer to say "I wonder if there are other plates like that..." The ol' "stand on multiple plates" thing is a staple of video games where you can control more than one character or have something heavy in tow. That goes back to the Zelda series.

That's a good question. If I had to guess, I'd say there isn't a discernable pattern that determines whether Ageless will have rune slots. I'm pretty sure it's just a bug if it doesn't.Jman5 wrote...
What level were you guys who got an ageless with rune slots? Right now, I'm thinking you may need a minimum level since it is relatively easy to grab.

OK, here's what happened to me. I was 13th level. Picked up Ageless. It did not have any rule slots. Fast forward a few hours... I'm now 14th level, and I'm in the circle tower and I pick up Yusaris (another 2h-sword) Since I like both weapons, I decide to equip them both ( quick weapon-slot 1, and quick-weapon 2) so that I can switch between them when I need to.
As I'm doing that, I look into my inventory and I notice that Ageless suddenly has 2 rune slots!

1. Get Ageless
2. Sell it to a merchant
3. Make a DIFFERENT (it HAS to be different) save file
4. Load the save file and buy back Ageless, now with 2 rune slots (it can take a few reloads)

"Weakens nearby darkspawn" is not implemented.
Neither is Messy Kills.
Why is that? Will it be fixed in future patches, devs?
