How is that why Nukes do way more harm to us because of the radiation, fallout, and EMP damage.  You also forget that Skynet and its Terminators hold most of the unused nukes while there are most likely Terminators and safety protocols for Skynet to survive massive EMP attacks.

And what you forget is that all of that damage would've occured on Judgement Day, because of the whole "Nuclear War" thing going on. All of the servers would've either been destroyed due to EMP's, knocked out by the loss of power grids, or isolated because satellites and land lines would've been severed in this attack.

Yet assume that "super waepon" would be better then the Crucible, which it wouldn't have.  The Crucible is an atuo-win button while your "super weapon" would be more of a sucide button from wasted resources.

Because it would've made sense, not be a waste, and actually do what you think it does.

The Crucible is the waste of resources because they build it with no tests or regard to other, more sensible, options.

All I see is a straw-mann here because sci-fi and fantasy are usually connected to the hip.

Yes, but there are key differences that you don't seem able to grasp.
Namely for the Sci-fi to stick within it's own set rules unless properly explained by in-universe rules.

Or to keep major things that would break the suspension of disbelief the hell away from the script.

I didn't forget anything based on how Skynet worried about talking out key targets while there are already billions of privately/publicly owned servers and there are enough EMP protected technology for private/public use.

there was nothing ignorant about my commment. it's pretty obvious you're just being overly ignorant in general and prehaps even a little confused.

Sure, in sci-fi it depends on how well is space magic explained. It maked a difference between bad sci-fi and a good sci-fi. And in ME, there is everything explainable. I see Catalyst to behave logical, I see synthesis explainable, I see AI threat understandable. On the other hand I see more trivial thing to be space magic... dreadnought class ship can't enter lower atmospehere, they have to use shuttles. Reapers oddly can't see Normandy, etc.

don't try to play good samartian here. quoting a sarcastic reponse i made to someone who was constantly finger pointing and making ignorant posts,  and saying im somehow "breeding ignorance" is pathetic.

Good fantasy has to do the same thing. There's no drama otherwise.

Science fiction can range from 100% realistic and doable to pretty soft technobabble replacing magic. If it wasn't true and someone made it up then Apollo 13 would be science fiction. Things like Jurrasic Park, whilst stretching plausibility somewhat, are science fiction, not fantasy.

I'm not playing good samartian while its easier to have a debate then an argument, which is why its best not to insult people.

a sarcastic comment isn't an insult, and most of the people you try to "debate" with calls you a troll

People complain about space magic because ending is cheap. But saying it's unrealistic? Hah, yeah, whole damn series is unrealistic.

Destroy or Control being unrealistic? Yeah, right.
Synthesis? I'd say it's on the same level as biotics or Omni-DoEverythingWithOneButton-Tools.

Where can you buy EMP shielded servers? I'm interested where this fantasy store is.

Actually that "super weapon" is a waste based on how its not worth the resorces and its no auto-win button.

So, it's a waste... because it's a waste. Uh huh....

Yet ME hasn't contradicted itself especially when we're talking about anything based on Element Zero.

Synthesis. Element Zero does not do anything LIKE that remotely.

It's not opinion, it's how you write a good story. If you break suspension of disbelief, your story plummets because the reader's immersion is shot to s***.
