i hate to compare a game to real life, but sexuality doesnt really have much of an impact on anything you do in real life except who you are dating.

the only real exception would be if you were one of those people who felt the need to express their homosexuality to every possible person on the face of the planet being a total attention who**, then of course most the time you will get the negative reactions from people which is 99% because of your behavior and not your sexual preference.



anyways, i think Wynn is awesome and she never makes anyones lists for this kind of thing.
mature, strong willed, intelligent, and actually has morals of a good person... whats not to like.

I just installed the game, so I'll have to see for myself -- if it fits the story line, I don't see a problem with it -- the pre-release game info was pretty explicit about "shocking content." Fallout3, for example, is pretty heavy on slavery and prostitution as sub-themes. But that's what happens when women lose the protection of civilization -- and exploitation exists even in civilized countries today. So I just deal with it as an "ugly" side of human nature.



That said, why is it that every time a new game comes out that extending in-game sexuality is one of the first topics that comes up? It was true of NWN (1 and 2), Oblivion, Fallout, Witcher ... you name it.



Methinks some are spending waaaayyyy too much time in front of a PC (or console) and not in RL if they're looking to satisfy their needs solely from a game.

It isnt exactly hard to find porn on the internet so i would prefer if there were more reasonable reactions to whether or not your character is straight/gay. Characters being shocked or confused or even homophobic

the girl laying down is blue and i just dont find that appealing in any way. looks like shes dead or something. the girl on top has that nice necklace around her neck to hide the obvious neck attachment to body line that would otherwise make her look completly fake.



how people find that kind of thing arousing is beyond me, and i honestly dont really see a point to it in a video game. if i want porn, ill go get porn. i play a game to play a game.

Characters are extensions of a fantasy self, really. So it really makes me wonder when I see all these guys wanting to play female characters lol ... latent tendencies maybe? I wouldn't say that my view is homophobic, I just have a very strong bias for hunky looking guys to have ever given thought to a lesbian relationship. That view will likely extend to my character too.

Not really, DAO's world is more balanced than our medieval era in some respects, women allowed in the military of some regions for instance.
People like Isabela seem quite open about their bisexuality, but then she could kick the arse of anyone who objected anyway.

Yeah....actually,it would figure if Ferelden was...homofobic.

My guess is that BioWare didn't bother to develop that aspect further because it would add a lot of new dialogue. I dont know... i find it more immersive and logical to be looked down upon if you are gay.


At least in Ferelden,the land of political games where all is possible and Enchantments rule us all.

This reminds me of Fallout 2, while there wasn't much bigotry (not much room for that when you're trying to survive in a nuclear wasteland) there were some hilarious reactions to gay/lesbian relationships, including that farmer guy who forces you to marry his son or daughter if he catches you, his reaction to a female PC with his daughter being "Well I can't say I don't find this a turn-on.", which made me laugh.. then wonder what kind of father he really is..
