Eh, I don't play the game to get my jollies, I can go out to a bar for that.

That said, I would have preferred a few more lesbian options, because...well, I played my city elf rogue as a lesbian, because in my eyes, that fit her character better, and I would have preferred someone other than Lelliana as her partner. I'm just saying.

Honestly, I don't see what the big uproar is, its not like the game forces you into a sexual relationship with anyone, hetero or straight.

Cackling over a cauldron?  Hmmm .... is that a euphemism?

I do see your point, however - Morrigan's upbringing hasn't left her with a particularly favorable view of men.  I could see her batting for the other team simply because she couldn't find a man worthy of her respect.  As things are in game, she just doesn't, which works fine.  Of course, one could argue that her experience with mom might make other women difficult to trust.

As a lesbian myself, i at least would like the options to woo who i want in the game. It is no big deal to program it in (same for male options).



For those who do not want it, the answer is just as simple. Don't use the options that would initiate such a romance/action. Everybody wins.



As sweet as Leliana is, i honestly thought Morrigan would be an option too as she seemed very much like a lesbian stereotype. Of all the characters met i would think she would be most open to experiments.



As for acceptance, remember this is not medieval earth, it is a fantasy setting with magic and shapeshifting, elves, etc... I think views on certain things, like same-sex relationships, would differ a lot, and even marriage (and begetting a child) should be no problem. And just for the record, even on earth in many medieval and ancient cultures same-sex was tolerated and even accepted, or encouraged for various reasons. Mostly only religion has intruded on that.



But still, why not just have the options? I mean there are two lesbian options (one romance, one as a fade to black scene) that i know of, so why not include all (or at least more) of them? Like the Bella kiss, or Kaitlyn kiss?



Even playing the game it does not really feel like my char is actually lesbian. More like in a temporary fling with another girl who is not really lesbian either. (although later discussions with Wynne make it seem more like love Hmmph, but i can live with that if we had more options...



Sorry for this mini rant as my first post. Never understood why people would actually hate things in a game that they don't even have to do or pursue...

I think the reason you cant get with every chick in the game as a woman, is because not all of them are lesbians. It would severely suspend my disbelief if everyone in the DA world was bi. It would just seem stupid.

You would probably be surprised by how many heterosexual guys do not enjoy lesbians. I am one of these types of guys and the vast majority of my male friends are as well. Comes with being Christian I suppose.

I'm not arguing that some can't be bi, I'm arguing against this theory I've heard kicked around on these forums basically stating "Just make every LI and sexable character bi." It is highly unrealistic (not to mention quite stupid) and would not make any sense from a writer's stand point.

Stupid to you, perhaps, but I think it would be awesome.  I, personally, don't feel any compelling need to "get with every chick in the game" but I would dearly love to play a game where homosexuality was considered no more stigmatizing than, say, having curly hair rather than straight.  So far, DA:O is as close as we've come, and for that I love BioWare.

...In spite of the fact that they apparently killed my pooch.
