I just can't enjoy any of the Mass Effect games anymore after the release of Mass Effect 3. The story of ME3 basically ruined the entire trilogy for me. I know this might sound silly, but it is true.

Yesterday I wanted to start a new game in ME1. I played it for 2 hours and lost all excitement. I kept thinking about how everything I do in ME1 would be reduced to plain numbers (e.g. War Assets). It felt redundant. I just didn't enjoy it anymore. So I took out ME1 and tried ME2 instead.

So I started up ME2 and decided to do do a NG+ with my Renegade Shepard. But again, the same feeling came up. In fact, the feeling became even worse. Seeing The Illusive Man again reminded me of what he would become in ME3, a cliché super-shallow villain, a mindless indoctrinated douchebag, basically a Saren 2.0, but worse. At least Saren was cool back in ME1... *sigh* It made me feel sad.

So I turned off my Xbox360 and started a new game in The Witcher 1. At least I can still enjoy The Witcher series. Hopefully CD Projekt RED won't screw up The Witcher 3 the same way BioWare screwed up Mass Effect 3. *sigh* :(

The "i can't play Mass Effect anymore" threads are old too and I need to replace the strings on my tiny violen.

ME is a dead franchise to me too. I ended up destroying my ME1 and 2 discs for the lulz.

I recommend guzzling down a gallon of bleach, with luck it'll remove all memory of Mass Effect 3 and you can enjoy the first 2 games again.

Well that's okay. I still have The Witcher to enjoy you know. I just find it such a waste that 1 single game managed to ruin an entire franchise for me. But as long as I have other good and proper RPG series to enjoy I'll be fine. :wizard:

Except that there are NEW people playing and completing the game every day.  This means that to you its "old news", yet to the person complaining its a FRESH and VALID complaint in their eyes. Now Im not saying that I know how long the OP has been angry/upset at ME3.  But the fact remains that new people will come and complain.  And all you bring is a "cool story bro" to each new person.  Which is silly to say the least.

Meh. The Witcher 2 has the finess and tells an amazing tale, but no one can touch the heart as good as BioWare games. If Geralt died I'd be sad, yes, but when Shepard died, I was in tears crying "live you ****ing ****! Live!" Sorry the opinions of others influence so many people. Especially if you go to those TW2 forums. Their hate for BioWare and love for CDPR will eventually be their downfall once CDPR goes off track record.

It is known.

It is, but it's getting pretty repetitive though. I wish they would add new modes to the MP.

Some of the stuff you described is entirely up to you. You see EMS, where I see either a bright yet uncertain future for the krogan, or no future at all. Galaxy with Rachni, or without Rachni. Instead of thinking about what are the consequences to your choices in ME world, you keep thinking about mechanics.

But yeah, no need to force yourself into doing something that isn't enjoyable for you. No need to share this with the world either, but it is well within your rights.

Btw, what is the magic needed to start liking Witcher 2? I'm polish and longtime fan of the book series Witcher is based on, I got CE of Witcher, yet I can't bring myself to play it. I dislike minigames, which are either retarded (dice) or way too easy (fistfights), I dislike the ridiculous, overcomplicated inventory/crafting system, I don't find the combat enjoyable... I don't know what to do - if not for the charming plaster Geralt bust, my money spent on Witcher 2 CE would be the money lost :/

The best part of the game for sure. Don't have to deal with the pulp nonsense story there and the Vorcha and Batarians get a larger and more positive role.

Maybe it was because you were doing Soldier on Insanity? But I agree with you. Mass Effect 3 not only severs its own replay value, but the replay value of the whole trilogy. Any cutscene involving Reapers, the main plot, etc, I just can't take it seriously. In ME2, while preparing for the Collector Base I ask myself: Wtf am I spending 40 hours for 50 EMS points? This game doesn't mean anything. In Mass Effect 1, I am ROFLing to the sound of Sovereign's outdated crap. Maybe the Reapers were like that 300 years ago, but not anymore.

I didn't hate BioWare until the release of ME3, so I'm not like those hardcore Witcher fans who already ragged on BioWare before the release of ME3.

I disagree about BioWare being able to touch the heart though. I didn't cry when my Shepard died. He was a good man, but in ME3 he didn't feel like my Shepard anymore, if you know what I mean?

Geralt never felt like my character to begin with, but that's fine, because Geralt is a deep and fleshed-out character with tons of experience and backstory. Geralt might not be my character, but I still feel more of a connection with him than I did with my Shepard.

And I hope you're wrong about CDPR. I hope they'll always keep producing awesome games and don't follow the path of BioWare.

The way I see it:

Terry Crews: Hey, you can have this really delicious steak if you want, it's quite a delicassy. I mean there's no other steak like it. But once you're done eating it, I'm going to punch you in the mouth. Still hungry?

That's what playing Mass Effect felt/feels like.
