Ok I dont want it force the 720 resolution to 1080.  I have done this and it stretches the text on the scren and makes the terrain flicker a little.

Why does the xbox 360 version say it can support the higher resolutions but mt PS3 version only says 720???

What the hell I fell jypped!!!

I didnt liked that either at start, but even on 720 it looks preety good and even a little better than my 360 copy. No harm done then, I love this game

Nobody can convince me that the x360 version runs NATIVELY at 1080p. Upscaling =/= more resolution.

The number of games for ps3 and 360 that are Native 1080p can be counted on your fingers. Sounds like your your ps3 is not up-scaling for some reason.

Your TV could also be the culprit. If your TV is not wide-screen and its doing something funky with the aspect ratio it could cause image stretching / distortion. Your ps3 should be displaying the most suitable image format for your TV by default.

I think most games on the PS3 is in 720p, very few are in 1080i or 1080p.

I'm happy with what I'm seeing... if I want better, I'll go look at the PC version.

The 360 will upscale output, and give you fake 1080, but the game engine is still 720p, which is why text looks like crud when stretched. I don't think unchecking 720p is an option on the PS3, since the game only supports 720, but you may be able to get your TV to scale the picture if you think you're missing anything.

Frankly, I don't know if DAO can even be forced to 1080p, but most games (and this includes both Modern Warfares :) will rather output 720p and leave the upscaling to the tv to save the processing grunt for the game - the smart way to do it, but unfortunately gives wrong impressions to people who do not know the first thing about how resolutions work in consoles. I prefer it this way.

Oh, and your tv will automatically upscale/downscale everything to its native resolution - unless you're seeing a centered picture with black bars all around :P
