Non-standard builds (or for-the-hell-of-it builds)

As a result i'm currently rocking a power-focused (bonus power TC) infiltrator with Slam as the bonus power. Basically a sentinel with TC, plus a variety of weapons, the more exotic the better, currently:
Sniper rifle (Mantis/Raptor/Black Widow)
Assault Rifle (Adas/Cerberus Harrier)
SMG (Bloodpack)
Pistol (Scorpion)
It is so much fun! And i just like the idea of an Infiltrator with biotics. Also toying with the idea of sticking Statis or reave on it.
Also thinking of a total weapon-**** Soldier shepard, with bonus power set to Ammo or Inferno Grenades, so that cooldowns aren't an issue, and thus can maybe carry five of the biggest, baddest, heaviest weapons and not give a damn about recharge speeds and just be the most tooled-up mother****er in the galaxy. Something like Black Widow - Adas/Saber - Bloodpack - Reegar/Claymore - Scorpion/Paladin.
Any other ideas for builds that try to do things a bit differently? Efficiency might be sacrificed... but oh well what a shame.

You could use a biotic talent on a Soldier, Infiltrator, or Engineer. As Maze of Torment suggests, Slam works well (requires From Ashes DLC). Reave would also work (requires at least one playthrough with Kaidan).
Conversely, you could put a tech talent on an Vanguard or Adept.
Or for something completely different, you could try playing as a Chargless Vanguard, with a focus on:
a) Reave-Nova-Shockwave
c) Pull-Carnage-Shockwave
All builds assume Incendiary Ammo for Shepard and Cryo Ammo for squad.
Another non-standard build would be a cloakless Infiltrator, with a focus on Sabotage-Incinerate-Energy Drain. Note that you would be giving up the rank 4 Damage Bonus evolution of Cloak so your tech attacks would not be as powerful.

You just gave me an idea for my sentinel build

It depends on what you consider non-standard. Even as an Infiltrator, Sniping was never a primary focus, so I consider a Sniper Infiltrator as non-standard.

I like the chargeless Vanguard idea actually, always thought the adept power line-up was a bit vanilla, and that would you some nice options for biotic explosions, plus the awesomeness that is incendiary ammo.

Sniper-based infiltrator that uses scoped pistols only. Just something off the top of my head
I do that a lot on multiplayer, because my sniping skills aren't that great.
Bringing a phalanx and I can usually snipe down foes fairly quickly. Not as quick as someone with a widow.
The only time I use sniper rifles is in single player where my concentration mod combined with the infiltrators natural time dilation really transforms insanity into easy mode.

Okay here is my new suggestion.
Imagine a sentinel without tech armour.
Bring slam instead.
Then bring a light pistol.

This is from my understanding what quite a few sentinels are doing..

The imfameous Kronner build is the opposite of my (no tech armour, one gun) caster sentinel.
Max out tech armour.
Max out (fortification, barrier or defence matrix)
Max out throw.
Max out lift grenades.
Borrow an ally's ammo power.
Now equip a weapon for every slot.
He calls this the Walking Biotic Bomber and Walking Armory.
Why this build?
Throw has such a short cooldown that it doesn't matter how many heavy guns you carry.
The sentinel's defence makes it ideal for soaking lots of damage.
Use biotic squadmates (Liara, Javik and Kaidan) to setup the biotic explosions. You use throw to detonate.
The end result is a very powerful Sentinel. Certainly insanity viable, but in my honest opinion, not the most effective way to go about it.

I ignore biotic combos and focus on weapon usage and fire explosions. I charge only when a enemy closes the distance. I can't wait to unlock the hornet and tempest so I can see how they performance under marksman.
Good times!

First, you need to start a new game or new game+ as a Vanguard. Use Gibbed's to add Barrier, Reave, and Slam to your class as bonus powers. Also add the Collector Rifle (and add it in at the level you want it to be for the rest of the game, as it can't be upgraded on the Normandy terminals). Once you get the chance to choose your weapons and powers, set them up in the following way:
Collector Rifle (Barrel/Piercing)
Blood Pack SMG (Barrel/Heatsink or ULM)
*if you don't have the Firepower Pack, use the Hurricane, Hornet, or Tempest*
Incendiary Ammo 6 (with Explosive evolution)
Cryo Ammo 6 (with squad evolution)
Nova (with Half Blast and Pierce evolutions)
Assault Mastery (maximize power damage, weapon damage, and weight capacity)
Fitness (maximize shields and shield recharge)
Barrier (spec for DR at rank 4, as you won't be detonating it)
Reave (spec for single-target duration and armor damage)
Slam (spec for force at rank 4)
No points in other powers
Aside from these notes, spec the powers however you like.
The playstyle for this class is really easy to remember. Keep Barrier up all the time. Give squadmates Cryo Ammo. Use Incendiary Ammo on both of your weapons. Use gunfire -> Slam on unarmored targets (makes fire explosions) and Reave + gunfire on armored ones. Nova is a panic button, for when an enemy gets too close and you need to stun them or kill them right away. use the Collector Rifle at mid-range and long range, and use the Bloodpack (or other applicable) SMG at close range.
For added fun, bring along Liara as a squadmate and use the Singularity -> Slam combo for easy BEs. Bringing along EDI, Garrus, Tali, or Kaidan to strip shields with Overload can also be useful, as it compensates for the one weakness of this setup.
This setup is entirely for fun, by the way, so don't get offended if I've committed some faux pas by posting a modded setup, because despite the fact that I "cheated" to make it, it's less efficient than many traditionally legitimate playstyles and therefore doesn't really provide any sort of advantage aside from all the extra fun it creates.

Use Marksman as a bonus power and spec it for accuacy and RoF. Then equip a high damage shotgun like the new Raider with the smart choke and barrel/shredder mod. This set up allows you to pratically snipe with shotguns.
Just use hip fire and the round should go: TC - Marksman - empty clip. Then while marksman is still active you can even go: TC - sabotage/incinerate - shoot.
Love this build. Assualt rifles also work very well with this build. Especially the cerb harrier.
