I think that is also why Morrigan gets so defensive whenever you mention love to her early on. She doesn't want to feel any sort of attachment towards your character, but does, and to her it is a weakness.

I can really see this as being the reason, and I had a curious thing happen in my recent game to give this some credence.Aedan_Cousland wrote...
In the beginning Morrigan is not being completely honest about her feelings either to you or herself.. I think even from the start she has feelings for the PC and it isn't just lust, which is why she gets possessive if you flirt with other people in front of her. It's just that at the end when she is head over heels in love with the PC that she can no longer lie to herself or to you.

I went straight to camp from Flemeth's hut. I had gifts I wanted to clear out, and I wanted to see if a mod I added applied to that camp. While there, I had a couple of Morrigan's conversations, trying to get her a bit friendly before I did Lothering. When we got to Lothering, and crossed the bridge for the first time, Alistair implied that Morrigan and I were making kissy faces already. We haven't gotten that far into a relationship yet, but Alistair is already acting like we are. Perhaps he knows something, as much as I would hate to give him any kind of credit, that I don't about Morrigan?
Also, has it occured to anyone else that Alistair and Morrigan act more like a married couple than anything else?

Morrigan. We love you.
- Morrigan: "I am not fond of sharing. You should know this."
- Leliana: "I haven't asked to borrow anything of yours."
- Morrigan: "I see you yet continue to be where you are not welcomed."
- Leliana: "Are you jealous? Is that what this is about? Because I don't think it's for you to decide what I should or should not do."

Anyway she does get a little hypocritical at the end when she falls in love with you, but I like that. It's very real. Like the time my girlfriend said that she would not mind one bit if I went to Vegas for a stag for my best friend but started to change her mind when the date was coming up.

She doesn't seem to be very self-actualized.

Well you know, what a woman sometimes says and what she actually means can be two very different things (Morrigan and 'this is a no-strings' relationship being one of them), but it makes her a bit more real that way
I have never encountered that in any relationship

She doesn't share, she tells the PC that at least once, maybe twice. She does the standard issue if I act like I don't care for so and so maybe I won't, but it fails in the end.

I though Morrigan had the best comback between the two when Morrigan threatens Leliana the then Leliana tells her "talk is cheap" and Morrigan's reply.... "This coming from a bard". ohhhh....Kerridan Kaiba wrote...

Morrigan. We love you.And this nugget of tasty.

It's funny that the two of them have a something out for one another.
- Morrigan: "I see you yet continue to be where you are not welcomed."
