Just something I noted during my Morrigan romance play through.  She gives you this whole speech about having no designs on my independence.  Yet if I kiss Bella in Redcliffe she gets mad.  If I try to sleep with Isabela she has a hissy fit.  They should have had her be the reverse of Leliana and Alistair. Where you can harden them and they become more forgiving of these kinds of things.  She should be forgiving of all these things until you kill Flemeth and get her to "love".  Then she can get mad about my sleeping around.  Just something I think the game devs should have thought about.

I think what she meant by not doing anything to your independence, is that she won't cause you to get tied down to her like a marriage, and that if you decide both of you should split, it's perfectly fine. So if you want another woman, you gotta split up with her first.

In the beginning Morrigan is not being completely honest about her feelings either to you or herself.. I think even from the start she has feelings for the PC and it isn't just lust, which is why she gets possessive if you flirt with other people in front of her. It's just that at the end when she is head over heels in love with the PC that she can no longer lie to herself or to you.

I think that is also why Morrigan gets so defensive whenever you mention love to her early on. She doesn't want to feel any sort of attachment towards your character, but does, and to her it is a weakness.

Well you know, what a woman sometimes says and what she actually means can be two very different things (Morrigan and 'this is a no-strings' relationship being one of them), but it makes her a bit more real that way

I can really see this as being the reason, and I had a curious thing happen in my recent game to give this some credence.

I went straight to camp from Flemeth's hut.  I had gifts I wanted to clear out, and I wanted to see if a mod I added applied to that camp.  While there, I had a couple of Morrigan's conversations, trying to get her a bit friendly before I did Lothering.  When we got to Lothering, and crossed the bridge for the first time, Alistair implied that Morrigan and I were making kissy faces already.  We haven't gotten that far into a relationship yet, but Alistair is already acting like we are.  Perhaps he knows something, as much as I would hate to give him any kind of credit, that I don't about Morrigan?

Also, has it occured to anyone else that Alistair and Morrigan act more like a married couple than anything else?

Morrigan. We love you.
  • Morrigan: "I am not fond of sharing. You should know this."
  • Leliana: "I haven't asked to borrow anything of yours."
And this nugget of tasty.

  • Morrigan: "I see you yet continue to be where you are not welcomed."
  • Leliana: "Are you jealous? Is that what this is about? Because I don't think it's for you to decide what I should or should not do."
It's funny that the two of them have a something out for one another.

Morrigan, in her conversations with Leliana, has always told her she "does not like to share".

Anyway she does get a little hypocritical at the end when she falls in love with you, but I like that. It's very real. Like the time my girlfriend said that she would not mind one bit if I went to Vegas for a stag for my best friend but started to change her mind when the date was coming up.

Nah, they act like brother and sister. I keep waiting for the "My side/your side," argument and for one of them to draw a line down the camp.

She doesn't seem to be very self-actualized.

I read the title and expected this to be about how she is a selfish lover and was surprised at the content slightly.

She doesn't share, she tells the PC that at least once, maybe twice. She does the standard issue if I act like I don't care for so and so maybe I won't, but it fails in the end.

I though Morrigan had the best comback between the two when Morrigan threatens Leliana the then Leliana tells her "talk is cheap" and Morrigan's reply.... "This coming from a bard". ohhhh....

Morrigan only sais that because she is afraid to fall in love. At some point of the game she aks you about the "strange feeling" she is experiencing en how she does't like it. She even got mad at me when i didn't break up with her at the camp.

She is just a misunderstood evil to the bone witch afraid of love.

Sometimes what a woman says and what a man hears are two *very* different things, too.  Just sayin' :P

The loose invocation of the term "misogyny" is also enjoyable.

Hmmm, since Witches of the wilds are very possessive???? are you said if you choice having sex with her, basic you just sell your body to her for sex and she is ownership of your body?
