this isn't going contrary to plot
Actually, it is: the plot is that the Crucible either destroys the Reapers, controls them, or synthesizes organic life with synthetic life. All these three endings are alluded to one way or another, and each have their own significance with regards to the entire trilogy storyline whether you choose to ignore this fact or not. The ending proposed here is nothing short of contrived, uninspiring garbage.
Give it a ****ing rest. The story is not going to change. What happens after the ending of ME3 is left to your speculation, not what is actually presented to you in the game.
If you don't like the thread, you give it a rest and just don't open the link....
Like your "why refuse isn't a good option" or whatever it's called. I haven't even opened up the page, because I know it will be full of opinionated bull****.
Plus, that bolded part, you're joking right?
For the whole game the crucible was meant to defeat the Reapers. Not the Reaper threat or invasion. The physical BEINGS themselves!
Synthesis is also more contrived then any piece of fanfic writing i have seen since the ME3 release. There have been WAY too many analysis' and studies from literary and thematic standpoints to real life biochemistry and physics standpoints.
It just stupid and contrived. Had the writers had more time to flesh out an ending that made sense. They would have seen this themselves.
Synthesis is the anti-thesis to the Mass Effect series.

@ CE: I agree. We don't need to know the reapers motivations. They are killing us. We are trying to survive. The latter is our motivation. The survival of our species is enough of a motivation for me. We know that they can be destroyed.
What pissed me off was:
* the retcon of the council in ME2 to be dumbasses.
* the retcon of Councilor Anderson to not trust Shepard.
* the way all the information about Sovereign suddenly turned into Geth when they had Geth tech all over the place to compare it to -- meaning their scientists are dumbasses too.
* and in ME3 the turning of Shepard into a putz.
What is really sad is that everyone posting in this thread could come up with a better ending than Walters & Hudson. Granted some of them would be pretty cheesy (like yours truly), but they would be better. Hey, it's a game and the idea is fun, right?

So what you are saying OP is actually have an ending that makes sense and is rewarding?............ Nope sorry it needs more art, work with me here what if it weakens the organics and the reapers join with us to save us as told by a virtual representation of mickey mouse. that would work and is VERY Bioware like.
Great idea OP maybe Bioware should hire you to fix Mass effect 3 and make sure they don't destroy other games with the stupid artistic space magic bs they seem to love now.

I was expecting something on that, probably that those involved with studying the remains of Sovereign were indoctrinated on some level, which kept the truth concealed.
