Is it posable to turn off the voice chat on Ps3? I don't use it and don't want to hear it. it annoys me. so is there a way to turn it off completely? I've gone through my options several times but can't find one to  turn the damn thing off other than muting my TV.  so I really would like a way to still get the ingame SFX and Hackett VO without having to listen to someone else talking....

If you have a headset, turn it on so that all voice chatter is wired to it, and then throw it across the room.

Sadly I don't have a headset or mic. I don't speak on the Voice chat and don't want to hear others, . currently my only option is to mute the TV which is... problomatic as I lose the Hackett VO and SFX too. so no option to just turn it off?

I bought a cheapo headset specifically so I could do that - turn it on and put it somewhere else. turn it on after the match starts, turn it off before you get back to the lobby, and nobody will expect you to talk. Remember to mute it, though.

I will say though that since I got it I /did/ start talking to people and made a buynch of friends.

Now I want to get a decent headset (;

I employ the same strategy but I agree that any voice chat system should have a mute option. If not, then it should not exist in the first place.

See if I had a headset I would take part but since I don't have one, I would prefer to just not hear people talking at me when I can't reply. as it just seems rude, I can't belive that BW didn't have a mute option. I heard they even had one in the demo and it got cut out. which is just plane odd.

I am sick of hearing players at each others throats over silly things. There was one match a few days ago that had the most silly argument i have ever heard and that says something after playing COD. lol I agree in the fact a mute function should be added tis nice to mute some of the more colorful personalities out there. cough cough.

http://www.amazon.co...ony ps3 headset

I know its pricey but if you can find it cheap somewhere I'd highly recommend it. There's a feature that cancels out voice all together and its a nice headphone just to use around the house haha.
