I played the Typhoon pre-nerf and yes, it was awesome. I played it right after the nerf and yes, it was not as awesome as before. Then I got into the Fury and didn't use the Typhoon for a while.

Tonight I grabbed my Destroyer and picked the Typhoon back up. Slapped some Warp 3 on it and just mowed things on Gold. Phantoms melted like cotton candy in a blowtorch. It was glorious.

I also used the stability mod and the EB. I'm telling you, that gun still owns. You people claiming it was nerfed into uselessness need to learn to shoot.

I don't think ppl were saying Typhoon was nerfed into oblivion, but rather it's been nerfed hard enough that it's not worth using on most classes other than Destroyer.

I did all this stuff it was totally awesome and totally factual in every way that a thing could be factual.

1. Wrong.

2. People liked the typhoon overwhelmingly the way it was, which has nothing to do with farming metrics.

But seriously not worth trying to explain to this guy.  He's got a piranha 1 and no acolyte.  To say he got lucky to get a typhoon is a colossal understatement.  Guy probably plays an hour a week and thinks UR's drop like candy.  My manifest was more impressive than his before I got my first UR.  2 ranks of GPS, a gun that's been out since launch.  No.  Not worth talking about the balance of UR's to people that play that little.

Sheesh, a lot of people here not bothering to address the argument and instead say I have no clue by looking at my manifest. I play a lot more than once a week. Not as much or as well as people who solo Platinum, but enough to know that UR's do no "drop like candy."

I'm not trying to compare the Typhoon to weapons I don't have. I'm saying it's a good gun, period. You like something else better? Good on you. But don't come around whining about the "uselessness" of the Typhoon. If a mediocre player like me can make the thing sing, it's a friggin' good weapon.

Of course it's a good weapon... It's a UR and it's an assault rifle at that. It wasn't what it used to be and change isn't widely accepted by most people escpecially when it comes out of now where.

I got the Typhoon 1 a few days ago...

Coming from someone with maxed out rares, I really don't see how its supposed to be all that much better than other similar rapid fire guns of the same calibur? Its rate of fire is the same as the revenant, does less damage per shot (even with the 1.5X multiplier), and I'm REALLY not sure if the armor/shield damage bonus is working, since I haven't seen much of a change when firing at bosses and normal mooks. I really do wish BW would go back and think about reversing their decision on the Typhoon nerf, or even just buffing it partially back to where it was (1.75x maybe???)

You're. And no, I'm saying if you want to discuss the high end game, you need to actually be a part of it if you want to be taken seriously. This guy doesn't understand what it's like to grind millions and millions of credits getting nothing but consumables before finally getting an UR only to have it held up to the standards of rares. He sure as hell doesn't play platinum unless he's being carried by some poor sap so he doesn't understand what a rev up means there, if even gold. And don't tell me weapons shouldn't be balanced around platinum. URs should be good choices for platinum. Period.

But I'm sure you'll continue the strawman bull****. Your manifest is the same. Which is fine, not everyone can play hardcore. Not everyone can be a doctor, but I know better than to start arguing with an oncologist about the specifics of liver cancer. You and the OP should too.

You don't want us to compare it to other UR's because you don't have them? That's your problem. The fact is the PPR is better in nearly every way. The fact you don't play enough to have it does not change that. And no, nobody says the typhoon isn't viable. Of course it's viable. We're saying that its DPS is not what it should be.

- It's tied for the second highest weight in the game. This combined with its rev up pretty much eliminates the ability to use it on power-centric classes. It's restricted to only a few classes.
- The rev up is a major issue. It requires you to exposed and vulnerable for 1.5s before you even begin doing its real DPS. On gold, let alone platinum, that's plenty of time to get your ass chewed off even on beefy classes. And if you get staggered, you're right back at the drawing board.

Between these two major detrimental factors and the fact it's ultra rare, it should be one of the highest if not the highest DPS in the game. It's definitely not.

The nerf made it less kill-everything and more kill-mostthings.

Feels balanced to me, its in line with other weapons.

i tried really hard to like the typhoon, but people are right. its weak for what it does, period.
i have every ultra rare but the ppr so i cant compare those 2 guns.

A UR weapon that's only semi-good on 1 class is not fine. It's not worth its status or difficulty to unlock. The Harrier is better in almost every way and it's a much better choice for any non-Destroyer classes.

It's hard for me to take people seriously who talk about kicking ass on gold when they don't even have the Unwavering achievement yet.
