I'm still finishing up side quests in the pirate DLC, and have a little ways to go on the DLC main quest. I've kinda been sucked up in XCOM as of late. But I did play B2 over the weekend.

That hermit cracks me up. The poor old guy with his crush on Ms. Scarlet. She has some saucy promotional materials, I must say.

I finally got to the refinery, and have been helping out the Hyperion bot who's trying to get his hands on pron and pirate(d) echos...you know, for research. Heh.

So I got to experience fighting Anchormen over the weekend. They really have nothing on Maya's Cataclysm/Ruin ability. Phaselock, shoot once, and dead. It's nice, because you can kill them at quite a distance, and the cooldown on Phaselock can be used on the other Anchorman. They always seem to travel in pairs.

Anyone using those Jeep like vehicles who can throw exploding barrels? They're so fun.

I tried them for a time, but thought the barrel throwing was a bit slow, so I switched back to the regular buggy with missiles.

Just wait until you try a sand skiff from the pirate DLC. I wish you could drive those in the vanilla game. So.much.fun!

I hate them for giving me a pirate ship and not letting me use it in the rest of the game. Not sure how I'll manage without my Harpoon.

Not sure if everyone is aware but there is a graveyard.sav viral infection on xbox  that is corrupting peoples save games to the point where the character is basically unsalvagable. Gearbox are looking into it atm but be careful if playing with randoms.

The graveyard.sav glitch that has been hitting so many players has turned out to be a "viral" infection of sorts that is passed across players, originating with the modding community. It may have been accidental, it may have been intentional, who knows. I'd rather not debate that here, I would like to keep this informative.

What is graveyard.sav? What does this have to do with me?
When you get hit by the glitch that turns your save into graveyard.sav, upon entering FFYL and then subsequently dying for whatever reason, you will never respawn. You die and go into a free roam camera. If you try to load another character, dashboard, restart your xbox, etc, your save data is completely gone and there is no hope of recovering it at that point, as it is renamed graveyard.sav and is missing the majority of the data it once had.

What?! How did I get this?
As stated above, the glitch originated with the modding community and may or may not have been accidental. It spread from there, and it passes from the infected player to all other players in the game with said infected player. At this point, it's a terrible chain, and chances are it passed to you through some randoms.

But I don't play with randoms! I play with my friends only
Do your friends play with randoms? Have any of you ever had somebody come into a game and trade you anything? It's easy to spread, unfortunately.

How can I get my character back?
Once your save file has turned into graveyard.sav, you cannot get your character back. Too much data has been lost at that point, and it is far beyond salvageable.

So how can I prevent this, or save my character if it gets effected later?
If you want to prevent this, you have to make sure you're not playing with randoms, and that everybody you play with isn't playing with randoms, AND that it isn't currently effecting anybody in your group. Along with that, MAKE FREQUENT BACKUPS, and if you are on 360, do not backup to the Cloud, as it will sync with your HD saves and your backups will be overwritten, apparently. Memory card or USB drive is best.

If you get hit by this and recognize it (free roam camera, no respawning, etc), you can salvage your save.
1.] Quit (it'll tell you you cant save, thats fine, hit quit without saving)
2.] At main menu, hit Continue
3.] Load up, hit start, hit Save and Quit

If you salvage your save in this way, and then continue to play, the next time you die, it will happen again, and you must repeat the steps above. I highly recommend following the above steps and then NOT TOUCHING THE SAVE after that. It's a logical assumption that due to how this is done, Gearbox will likely be able to remove the "infection" from any effected files with the patch once they get it out.

Thread with more info here including pics and video on how to identify if you've been affected.

Well, I finally finished up the pirate DLC last night. Overall, I think it was worth the money, just for the sheer giddiness I got every time I drove a sand skiff around. There was a lot of content, new areas, and new enemies that were a lot of fun to kill.

Anchormen and Harpooners have nothing on Ruin (Maya's Cataclysm tree); the bane of my existence were those Corsairs. They were constantly disappearing, then backstabbing my character. When there's more than one, things can be interesting.

I'm a bit puzzled by the "end" of the DLC main quest, though. It didn't quite go the way I expected.

And I wish you could drive sand skiffs in the vanilla game.

And I hate the new Maya head. All of the other heads rewarded in the pirate DLC (for the other pcs) are fantastic. Maya's...not so much. But alas, by doing the DLC, I was able to get level 5 of "To Pay the Bills" challenge, and got an Admiral Asskick head. That will do.

Found this today...

PS3 Trophy List Outs Next Borderlands 2 DLC

It looks as though the next wave of Borderlands DLC has been revealed, via an update in the game's PlayStation 3 Trophies list. If it pans out, your next campaign will be Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage.

I've been enjoying Borderlands 2 right up to the point that they released the Pirate DLC, that update changed something which made it unplayable for me. It's crashtastic for me now, if it's not shutting down my PC then it's locking up forcing me to do a hard reset and it's been at least a month and a half since I submitted a support ticket to Gearbox and still no reply apart from "Sorry, we're busy, We'll be with you soon." :pinched: And I thought EA was terrible at Customer Support.

It deserved some awards I think. I am still disappointed with their attitude towards the endgame.

Looking back, I think the game was a big improvement over Borderlands 1 from level 1 through 49, but I stopped enjoying the game at 50. That wasn't the case for Borderlands 1. They need to stop thinking in MMO terms. Serious "raid bosses" and MMO token systems weren't what made Borderlands 1 great and now I feel they are in the way.

Don't even get me started on how I have killed the same boss for 8 hours total now with no drops above green. That's more than a hundred kills with nothing to show for it. Who in their right mind can think this kind of loot system is any good?

Unfortunately, I think with the awards it is now going to be interpreted as a completely success, and others will start thinking this version of an endgame is a good idea.

Borderlands 2 is the GOTY for me ... completely satisfying. The ending is not masterpiece (Killing that giant thing alongside handsome jack in that epic place?) but is good enough not to whine. New Vegas ending style would be preferable ...

So what can I do now when I've beaten the villain(s)? I'm at level 31
