So I noticed last night that there are supposed to be 5 hidden vault symbols in Sanctuary. Have any of you guys found them? I may not be far enough into the game for them to show up...or I'm totally blind.

BTW, those stupid slots keep pulling me back in. I got the triple eridium bars last night. Woo!

I only found 3/5 of the vault symbols in Sanctuary. One is a small one on a door on the balcony above the Eridium vendor. One is in a side alcove just before you go down to Marcus' shop (its partially covered by some garbage I think) and the third one I found on the roof over the guy who sells Hunter Hellquist Echos.

It seems I'm always missing at least 1 of the symbols in each area. Annoys me.

And dont get me started on my Slot addiction. Or inserting my tip with Moxxi. Image IPB

Tipping Moxxi is a really good way to update your gear!

I have two Bad Touches so far, never got the other one. Luckily the Bad Touch is all you need to melt loaders.

All of my money goes into slot machines. All of it.

Oh, there's the occasional ammo replenishing... maybe (very rarely) I'll see a nice Item of the Day...

But yeah. I've thrown quite a lot of money away. Still no triple vault symbol or eridium stack. (or marcus head either.)

Moxxi's place should have been utterly demolished about 300 times over due to the slot machine's infinite grenade capacity.

Thankfully the building and its patrons are indestructible.

Have you guys encountered this super hard boss that will require 4 players and a very high level just to beat it? It was mentioned in one of the trailers or something.

That Terramorphus is tough as Nether. Just killed him solo, after 4 hours straight of fighting him, I was running out of money!

Believe it or not, I got TWO eridium jackpots at once. Both machines, the stack, not the sinlge eridium.

Turns out that if you get a double jackpot, only one of the machines actually opens. Sigh!

There is a way to kill him under 6 seconds, basicly you need The Bee shield and Conference Call shotgun(optional).

Terramorphus also drops legendary relic blood of Terramorphus which will lead you to yet another Raid boss, no luck on getting that relic so far.

That is a bummer! And those were some crazy odds. I've gotten the Eridium stacks twice now, but I'm finding myself sinking tons of cash into every slot machine I see. Even the ones attached to One Arm Bandits. Glad to see I'm not alone, at least. Heh.

Somehow I've managed to save up $50,000 in one of my two playthroughs (that character is around level 23 right now), but it's probably due to picking most loot up that I see that's worth something, and selling what I don't want out of that. Most of the time, that equates to a ridiculous 'pick-up everything, and run to a med machine', rinse-and-repeat spectacle.

Oh, and total sidenote, but I'm not fond of Lynchwood. Rats, bandits, skags...armored skags (and rider)? Yeesh. But alas, lots of opportunity for XP. I just wish there were more ammo machines. I ran out on all 4 guns more than once, and each was a different type of ammo. Maya's Phaselock works awesome when dealing with tunnel rats.

Haha. when in trouble ask someone with a level 30 odd character to jump in and rip through everyone! :D Lynchwood is tought though and I went there at lvl 28 so everyone was scaled to a similar level. I'm exactly the same I'm a huge pack rat I pick up almost everything and sell it. So I need loads of eridium to upgrade my Backpack and ammo capacity, so far I'm up to £101,000.

And finally, finally. I got hold of a decent commando mod. It only cost me £7,000:? I couldn't find one anywhere which actually improved the skill tree I'd put most points into.

I hate the slot machines I've had terrible luck, I never get anything decent! On the plus  side I have managed to get up to round 5 on the Hyperyion circle of slaughter on my own. I'll try and complete it tonight if I get a chance.

I loved the bandit circle of slaughter - (it's the only one I've seen so far, we tend to waste a lot of time with pointless challenges and exploring)

My only gripe was that half of the critical kills I landed didn't count, thanks to my acid cloud/elemental damaging guns. I'm sure it was the 1000+ damage bullet to the head that killed that psycho bandit and not the extra 21 from that acid cloud.

I do hate that gun I got out of the whole thing... Severe Hail? you have to aim the darn thing at the ground in order to hit something in front of you.

On the subject of guns, does anyone like tediore reloads? I hate them. I reload my guns constantly, and every tediore reload uses up all the bullets currently in your gun. See, I reload after I kill something, no matter if it takes one bullet or ten. Just something I do. I end up running out of bullets fast.

Also, i accidentally tediore-reloaded right next to a gas tank. *sigh.*

^ Hmm. That sounds more Tedious™ than anything else. I did try a Tediore briefly, and didn't enjoy it. I kept seeing what looked like grenades surrounding me, and did a schitzy dance trying to keep away from them. I do the same thing you do, with reloading after kills. Not sure why; I've just always done that.

Severe Hail blows. I was wondering why none of my aimed shots landed. Like at all. That thing is sitting in an ammo dump somewhere now.

On the Tediore guns, they do more damage on the reload if you have more bullets still in the gun. They're novel if you can learn to adapt your tactics for them. If you're going for the Badass points for using them I'd reccomend sticking with a shotgun version. Those usually have small clips. So you're reloading after every other shot or so anyways, so it makes that constant reload time a little more productive.

Though personally, I prefer Jakobs™ on my Pirate Commando. And Miawan guns on my elemental focused Siren. But I've got a soft spot for Bandit guns. Mostly for the fun designs and orversized clips.

"Throwin' Stik Gurnade" is fun to say.  I honestly don't think I've used anything Bandit yet.

Re: Tediore shotguns... that actually doesn't sound too bad, if I could find a decent shotty. I only used tediore pistols (and only to get the high-flying hurler achievement.).

I mostly stick to pistols, but have grown to love my slag sniper rifle. I also started an assassin playthrough... not sure what to think about him yet. But I do like that sniping tree.

Ahh, that makes sense. I mostly ignore Tediores now, so I'll have to make a point of looking for a shotgun version.

I really wanted to like Jakobs guns, but I actually prefer Maliwan. I keep a sniper rifle of each element on-hand, and typically at least an smg, pistol, or assault rifle with each element as well.

With my Maya character, I'm focusing on the Cataclysm tree, and am having a ball. I love Axton's sabre turret, but there's something particularly awesome about Phaselocking enemies, and having it destroy them without firing a single shot. Aww yeah.

...ok, admittedly, it doesn't kill every enemy that way. Yet. I'm crossing my fingers that once I get the tree maxed that it will. We will see.

My Pirate Commando only uses Bladed weapons, and I keep finding nice Jakobs ones. Especially sniper rifles. Bladed sniper rifles are great. Both for looking like swords and for saving me having to swap weapons when my sniped targets friends get in to close.

I'm usually jumping between that and a bladed revolver. The damage is much higher than elemental versions on both and I do love the 'fires as fast as you pull the trigger' aspect.

Needless to say I've been getting lots of points for the 'Squall' achievement for gunblade usage. Image IPB

But like I said, my Siren is all about the elements. She's just not happy if she's not lighting things on fire.

Somehow I'm not surprised your character is a pirate, and uses bladed weapons. Nope, not surprised at all. Image IPB

I bet you'll really like Zer0 once you get far enough to start focusing his skills. My husband really likes playing as him. He's a bit more up close and personal than I like to play, but I may try him out at some point.

Zer0 was really the first I tried, because of all the melee focus. But I couldn't deal with sounding like a Volus ninja. Image IPB

But my commando got an eyepatch, skull patch, and a 'saber' turret which sealed the deal for me. That bladed guns come in all types this time around (only found them on revolvers previous game I think) is bonus. Though I did recently drop the eyepatch head in favor of the 'Roguish Renegade' one I got in a quest. Looks much more like my avatar pic.

I meant to comment on this. I had the same issue while playing as Maya, and was wondering why my critical hits weren't counting. I mean, I hit pretty much everyone dead in the head, and never made the objective. Lovely but stupid acid cloud.

@Jack - Hehe, 'Volus ninja'. I thought he sounded kind of silly at first, too, but he's grown on me. Sometimes he's absolutely hilarious. He looks really awesome in action.

I was slugging through the caves under the Sanctuary crater and OMG... That was just painful Took forever and enemys spawn every half a step you make. Bugs everywhere.... Threshers everywhere. Crstyalisks everywhere. Took several hours just to do 3 side missions. It was getting so painfully hard until random drop. Fire shotgun with a huge clip. Takes everything out in seconds. The crystalisk becamea joke haha. I went from hating that place to loving it as I just slaughtered everything with that shotgun.

Elemental effects also screwed things up for my Siren when doing the that quest where you had to kill a group of assassins each with a different weapon type for bonus. Either elemental damage did the kill (flaming punches and acid cloud did not help) or they'd get hit by a shield nova (Thanks Firehawk!)

When I did that quest a second time on my commando it went much smoother, due to lack of elemental weapons and swapping the shield to a non damaging one.

The Caustic Caverns? I loved them. Luckily there's a quest reward shotgun that's great for killing crystallisks. I think it's called Roksalt something.

Lynchwood. Now THAT is a tough area. But the hardest part of the game for me so far has been the quest Statuesque in Opportunity. Not fun when you are solo. Luckily, it seems I am getting better at the game, and while my Sal struggled with this quest my Maya breezed through it with some very strategic rocket launchering. So.. yay.

By the way, my Maya is now level 27 (also just happens to be Maya's age when she left for Pandora!) and I still love the PhysX effects when I use Phaselock. It just sucks up everything that isn't nailed down, including green goo on the floor any nearby piece of cloth. So much fun. SO fard to get a headshot through all the rubble though.

^ I went to Lynchwood, because I wasn't quite ready to go back to the wildlife preserve. Little did I know what I was getting into! Heh.

The Caustic Caverns were great. It's too bad that Blue was so easy. I was expecting something horrific after all the crystallisks. Of course, I think I had about 6 of those pop up while I was hopscotching my way out of there.

My Maya is level 23. My Axton is level 14, as that is my co-op playthrough with my husband, and he barely ever wants to play. Waa.

All crystalisks are easy I think. Slow with avoidable attacks. But there's just something about killing them that makes me happy.

That sounds terrible :)

^ That's true, and I appreciate it! I'm getting ready to do another Lynchwood run soon, care to join me? I've got to get some food for a puppy, rob a bank, do something to a train...

Speaking of Axton, get this - I was playing solo as Maya, and had just done some quests in Opportunity. I went back to Sanctuary to turn them in, and all of a sudden, I notice that my Maya is using Axton's voice. Every time she jumped, it was the sound of a man. Very creepy.

Oh! I got an awesome new skin for Maya! It's completely white, including her hair, and includes a symbol of an eye on her forehead and chest. Eye of...something. I can't recall right now. I don't know what it is, but I just can't use any of the new heads I've unlocked, as the default Maya head is my fave.

Edit: It's the "All-Seeing Eye" skin.
