I've been trawling around the internet for over a day, trying every single fix I can find for anything even vaguely like this, but unfortunately I've had no success. Searching the forums didn't turn up anything that matches my situation either - hopefully you guys can help.

In a nutshell, things are going screwy with the Priority: Earth cutscenes. I've made it though fourty hours of gameplay with absolutely no issues whatsoever, but as soon as the fleet jumps through the relay for the final mission, things get weird.

The first instance was while the various fleets are "checking in". Joker was talking, and then all of a sudden the dialogue just stopped. The music and ambient sounds carried on, and his lips were still moving, but I couldn't hear any words. A few seconds later, the screen goes black, and ME3 crashes. Having watched the cutscene on youtube, it looks like the camera was supposed to cut to a Quarian ship when it crashed.

It happened in the exact same place a number of times; fortunately I was able to spam space bar and skip my way through the cutscene. Everything seemed perfectly fine as I fought my way through the part with the Cain and such-like. Then I sprinted for the evac shuttle... and the second it switched into the cutscene, the sounds went muted; the ambience in the background kept going, but people were talking away and I couldn't hear a word of what they were saying. This time, there were also some graphics problems: Anderson's hat and jacket were a disgusting mass of blur as was Major Coats' hairline, though the textures on Shepard and the squad were completely fine.

Like I said, I've been through fourty hours of gameplay without any issues like this at all. I've checked that my system requirements are all hunkydory. I've updated drivers. I've checked speaker connections. I've checked that everything is seated correctly inside the computer. I've played other games to make sure that it's an issue with Mass Effect and not with my hardware. I've tried disabling anti-aliasing in the game; I've also tried disabling anti-aliasing and whatnot via the AMD control center, to see if that would fix the graphics issue. I've done a "repair install". I'm sure there's more, but I've tried so many different possible fixes that I can't quite remember them all.

I'm absolutely stumped. :(

Any suggestions?

If repairing the installation doesn't work, consider reinstalling the game.

Could you post your system specs and driver versions, just in case anyone else has the same issues? If so, we can compare specs.

A full reinstall fixed it!

From what I've been able to determine, it seems that some parts of the cutscene files were corrupt. Others have been having similar issues on their second or third playthrough: they didn't encounter the problem previously, because the decisions they made earlier in the game and the squadmates they selected didn't cause the game to access the cutscene files that were corrupt. The repair install via Origin didn't work because it didn't "realise" the files were broken.

I'm guessing there was a hiccup during the install, or a problem with downloading the extended cut, or something like that. Definitely worth trying an uninstall/reinstall if anyone else has the same problem!
