If s/he is the host, dies all the time, and I have to solo more than one wave.

When you get this on a pre-selected map and enemy you know something was wrong

Actually, this happens pretty easily when...

a)  The original team loses 3 of its 4 people and
B)  two newcomers join in at Wave 7 or 8.

Happens to a lot of people.

This was a 4 player game. One left at wave 8 or 9. No one joined after.

27 minutes? Yes. I was the only one doing hacking and the 1-4 nodes.

That's sadly a conceal & carry case then.  I hated other night how I joined a game right as wave 10 ended.  My score looked just as bad as what you showed, but only due to being a latecomer.  I don't understand why Bioware lets you join a game once all the objective rounds are completed.  It's a complete waste of your consumables.

I know. There should be an option "Do not throw me onto existing games that are past wave 3"

Hello everyone.
No, this is not a troll topic, i'm genuinely  interested in how do you know you're carrying someone. On these forums i've seen multiple times that "player A ended up carrying everyone else", or "these players b and c were waiting for someone to carry them". As i understand it, it means that you're actually soloing the otherwise doomed game with the other players just getting in the way. Does this kind of thing really happens that often? Yes, sometimes i'm better than the other players, sometimes worse, but i believe there was not a single time the game was solely dependent on me, or some other participating player. All the time i've played, the others did contribute as much as they could, even these N7 L7-13 soldiers on silver :) (except the obvious leechers of course), and i don't think i would've been better on my own or the game would've been a disaster if me or some other player wasn't present.

This is usually just douchebag syndrome at work. I will admit that in some cases it might be legit, but that's rare, IE yous ee someone camping a corner of the map, they're not moving and everyone else is doing all the work. Other than that, if you're out killing enemies, to me, that means you're contributing. Most of the time someone will pull out high ranked weapons and proceed to just smash everything in front of them, including killing enemies other players are working on then claim, they carried the team.  When it's just the case that you were being overzealous in a match with people who didn't have weapons as good as yours.

When fun ceases to be fun, it is no longer fun. Read a book or something

When you finish a Gold match and you have 140k points and the second one has 50k. And you did all the objectives.

It's some combination of being the highest scoring player, having a silver or gold revive medal at the end of the match, having the last guy you revived fall while you're on the way to reviving the previous guy that fell, and spending a round or two having to kill 2 phantoms, an Atlas, an Engie, and a handful of trash mobs by yourself when your revivals achieved jack.

It's not necessarily un-fun. I "carried" a few games where the team was generally decent at killing the trash mobs anyway, but it would always end up me being alone against a couple of boss units and either nemesis, rockets, or ravagers for the most part. A bit rough but if the field is sparse enough to prioritise properly it's not too frustrating.

The only time I feel like I'm carrying someone is when they're dying constantly and not helping with any objectives. I don't really take score into account.

Only really carried once when an N7 level 2 joined the game.
They did quite well considering it was their second match and it was silver, happy to help them level up,

How do I know? Simple. It's because I'm topping the scoreboard, lol

Usually it all depends on how they play. If they go solo, and die, a lot, then they are going to be carried. Especially on an objective wave.

Well, sometimes, randoms screw up spawns. Sometimes, I find that worse than soloing, since when you solo, you control the spawns yourself.

When someone needs is downed all the time, and/or doesn't kill anything, you're carrying him/her.

Thats called leeching.

When I know Im carrying is when I am the last man standing for multiple rounds and/or the beginning of a single round.

This happens a lot...especially with higher level N7 rankers actually.

Score doesnt really matter. As long as said player is helping with objectives and surviving the waves then I wouldnt say Im carrying them.

Aww man, I got leeched a month or so back. Posted Image

If you play the MP on the Xbox 360, and someone with the GT of "Gas A Baby Jew", boot them. Right there. Stupid leechers. Posted Image

When I do 130k while the rest of the one on 2nd place does 50k and the rest do even less, that is being carried. Happened 2 nights ago in a silver game, and the carried players were nice and polite, plus they only had level 1 weapons too, so I didn't mind having them around. At least they tried hard to do the objectives while I killed and ressed them to keep the pressure off them, it was fun too.

How do you know you're "carrying someone"?

1.  Your entire team is dead, your at nearly zero health an you have a horde of enemies hunting you.... You live through extraction.    You carried someone.

2.  When Player 1 score is 5 times Player X, Player 2 is 3 times player X, and Player 3 is 2 times Player X... you've carried someone.

Really, when your team composition is so off balance, that your team keeps falling down to the exception of one person.. That person will carry the team, or earn the title of carrying the team.

But when it all boils down to it, if you've gotten the credits and everyone at least participated AT ALL.. It doesn't matter who the carry was.

At the end of the match, if there is someone with a significantly lower score, like around 20k, you carried them.

Did you carry them or did you just kill more stuff while they were completing objectives? Did they get magnet-handed early in a round? Etc.

Points aren't really a direct indication of contribution or skill.

Even at the end of a silver match, if everyone is contributing equally, each player should have around 50k at least. More than that on higher difficulties. If there's one person that is in the entire match and has less than 20k, you carried him. Even if they were the one person that completed all the objectives, that's only three waves out of ten, and there is still plenty of opportunity for them to contribute during 7 normal waves. If they have only 20k due to being insta-gibbed, then they had to do that every single wave, in which case you carried a leecher.

Points ARE a direct indication of contribution, and most of the time skill.

No they aren't.  You have no idea what you are talking about.  if they hit all the objectives, had a ton of revives, and were generally playing the support role they could EASILY be less than 20k, espeically on gold or plat.  I run a premade sometimes with one of our players using a Salarian Engineer with an Acolyte.  They never score high.  but they are busy stripping the shields of of EVERYONE and decoying.  That same game set up, replacing them with someone who scores top is stil noticeably more difficult.

How do you know if you are carrying someone?  If you score 40k more than them, hit all the objectives, have more rezes and they spend 50% of every round dead.
