Like "Mass Effect : The C-Sec Storys" or something like that.
any numbered game should go forward.

Though i don´t think it would suck...I would be fine if it would be established as a different series.

A spin off I would be fine with that. But that is like what da2 was anyways that is what I meant by sequel.SpamBot2000 wrote...
They don't want to make a sequel, they want a spinoff. Doubt the wider appeal myself, but it's not like they're gonna take my advice.

Please don't talk about making me4 a prequel. I can almost guarentee a prequel will absolutely suck. I may be biased because I hate prequels but many people agree and also prequels never do well so I doubt bioware would make a game that was almost destined to fail. I actually do want them to make an me4 but as a sequel just please don't encourage bioware to make a prequel.
I am with you mate no prequel.

I should have used that as an example of how prequels suckThe Angry One wrote...
Prequels are bad? You mean you didn't enjoy how Star Wars turned Darth Vader from a badass villain/tragic father figure to a whiny, abusive, petulant man-child who was never a good person?

Which goes completely against what the Mass Effect series is about.

It doesn't have to be about Shepard and they would use destroy as cannon since most people choose itNinthGeorgesw wrote...
A sequel would never work, because of the endings. Shepard dies in most of them, and each leaves a vastly different scenario.

I'm interested in this statement that most people picked Destroy. Have Bioware ever revealed the most popular ending? These forums don't represent the full player base of ME3, so we can't know from here.
Even if most people did choose it, they would still ****** off massive amounts of people that chose other endings.

Unless they follow it up with a reboot.Dav3VsTh3World wrote...
The problem with prequals is that they're too linear and offer little choice for how the story progresses.
Which goes completely against what the Mass Effect series is about.
A prequel introducing a reboot has enormous potential. Just look at where the Star Trek universe sits now - a blank slate.

The series needs to move forward to feel interesting imo. Besides, prequels and spin-offs rarely ends up well.
But Shepard dying is irrelevant to the continuation of the series. The Mass Effect universe can definitely go on without Shepard.
The question is, can Mass Effect go on with the current endings in mind?
I see no room for a sequel without... trivializing the current endings.
One does not simply handwave away synthesis and start ME4 by saying "many of the details have been lost in time herp derp". That would be a great way for Bioware to undermine their own so called "difficult and big choices".
But I still think the only way is forward for the series. Let the past stay in the past. I just want to bury and forget the ending now. Not play something that only leads up to them and reminds me. How to solve it story wise? I have no idea. But I have trust in the Bioware writers. Well, most of them. I could drop a name or two that I do not want involved in the next game. But lets not go in to that.
Though considering the constant asking for romance DLC I think a "The Sims: Mass Effect Edition" would at least be a commercial success for a spin-off.
