Hi there.

I've been trying to compile different monster scripts to test in game. However, It keeps giving me this error, even though I didn't even touch the sys_traps_h.nss.

this error:

Compile Failed
E: 12:42:16 - sys_traps_h.nss - sys_traps_h.nss(1521): No right bracket on expression (while compiling monster_singletarget.nss)

I tried checking that script out, adding a close bracket in line 1521, rechecking it in, but it didn't work.

Any help would be sincerely appreciated.

I had the exact same problem a few weeks ago. It all came down to the fact that I was using toolset version 1.01, with game version 1.00. Once I updated to game version 1.02, everything worked out fine.

More specifically, they added a new engine function call in sys_traps_h.nss that was packaged along with the new toolset version (you can see it by doing a diff on it). However, this new engine function was recently introduced in game version 1.02 (perhaps 1.01, I'm not sure as I was on 1.00).

Hope this helps.

All right. I will reinstall dragon age I guess. Thank you so much for your help. If I still face the same problem, I will report back.

Thank you so much, once again!!!!! :)

Wait! You shouldn't have to reinstall. Just get the latest patch here, and install the patch over the current game. I'm assuming you're not on patch 1.02?

:o

I already re-installed, and repatched.

It works like charm though. Thank you so much for your help!

Don't worry. As  modder, I've already had experience re-installing everything and backing things up more than five times already. It really wasn't a hassle. It was about time to re-install anyway - I have a habit of really messing around with the files to see how it works, and if the game somehow doesn't turn on after a particularly experimental procedure, then whoop - reinstall. I always have a backup saveset ready so that I can go immediately back to modding and testing.

Thank you so much.
