Hello all
Apologies if i'm posting in the wrong location but frantically after some help!
I am in Orzammar trying to do the main quest but my current game status is below and not sure what to do as been stuck for the last 3 hours:
'You are working for both Vertag Gavorn and Dulin Forender, men who represent Prince Bhelen and Lord Harrowmont respectively. You probably wil not be able to play both sides for very long.'
Think both Bhelin and Harrowmont are in the Assembly so I am unable to speak to either an as a result cannot progress any further - anyone had similar issue?
I have completed the Proving fights so have run out of ideas!
May not be an issue but going to pulling my hair out soon and and will be throwing PS3 outside into the snow!
Any help/comments will be appreciated.
Many thanks in advance
Tom

If you've done the proving fights I think you need to go back to one of the representatives and report in. I think you then get the option to meet with one of the Lords in their own home. I hope this helps, but if I have misunderstood your current situation I apologise

Many thanks for your reply, unfortunately I am unable to speak to the representatives as each one asks whether I have spoken to Bhelen or Harrowmont and that is as far as the conversation goes as I can only respond "No, not yet".
Has anyone else come across this?
Thanks again

hmm, dunno then, sorry. I never experienced this. Harrowmont was always in his house for me, and Bhelen was in the Palace. Even when I was playing both sides they were where they should be. After the proving fights did you speak to everyone in there? I dunno if you've missed a step, i.e. by speaking to the Proving Grounds Master, or whatever his name was, the guy who starts the fights.

I'm having this same exact issue. No idea what to do now... I've talked to every single person in Orzammar. I guess you can't expect one of the highest rated games to be perfect.

Harrowmont's aid shows up in the Tavern afterwards, but you probably checked right?

Well, this answers the post I just put up, and coincides with everything else I've seen on the issue. To date, I've found no resolution for the problem, short of restarting the game, or going back to an earlier save point if you have one, and picking a side.
Sadly it's a common "glitch", with no apparent resolution in the works. I'm just hoping enough people bring it up that someone who can fix it takes note.

i think what happened here is you did the proving fights without declaring whose side u were on. i did harrowmont as king and his aide requested me to represent him in the proving... there i had to convince his fighters to join the proving again. after that, the aide was in tapster tavern and i got to do the 2nd task.
just go on a previous save if the bug is not workable

I can't speak for the OP, however for myself I declared whose side I was on, and was announced as Harrowmonts champion. Prior to the Proving however, if you talk to Bhelen's lackey, you can convince him you're working as an inside man, which he accepts. However, after winning the proving, if you've already done the two side missions for him, regarding the forged papers, he won't remember having asked you to do it, and those quests can't be completed. However, because you complete them, Harrowmonts man won't recognize that you've done the Proving for him either. He will instead ask you, if convinced, to spy on Bhelen instead as a way to prove yourself again.
The Proving master, for me anyway, still has an icon above his head for the the quest completion of the proving, though only say's "It was an honour..." when talked too. After that, the only other person who advances anything is the Lorekeep (Blanking on his ingame title), who confirms that the documents you were given had been tampered with. That said, once you find this out, it doesn't update your quest information, and doesn't open up any other options when Bhelen's rep is talked to again.
