I'm installing a copy of Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition that I purchased a year go, but I'm finally getting around to installing.

PC:  Dell 530, Quad CPU, 6 GB Ram, 145 GB disk available.  Windows VISTA 64bit.  All updates, patches and drivers are current.

I had some trouble installing Disk 1 (installer couldn't read core.rar), which I solved by copying the entire disk to my hard drive per https://help.ea.com/article/RN244 (skipping core.rar and campaign_movie01.rar which were not readable), then using another PC to copy those two files from the CD to a flash drive to my original PC hard drive.  I then could run the Setup program.

When the Setup installer program got to the point of wanting Disk 2, I put Disk 2 in the drive but the installer won't recognize that there is a disk in the drive.  When I click on Retry, it keeps giving me back the message to insert Disk 2.

I copied Disk 2 to my hard drive in a manner similar to https://help.ea.com/article/RN244 (thinking that if the installer was running from C:\\Disk Images\\Disk1, it might want to find Disk 2 as C:\\Disk Images\\Disk2).  Tried again but no luck.  But this proves that the disk is completely readable by my PC.

I've held down the Shift key during the attempt to load the second disk, and also tried to run Setup in Win 2000 compatibility mode (both as suggested by http://social.biowar...index/5178859/1).  No luck.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

On another thread a year ago someone suggested using the Origin download manager to download the game and then activate it using my CD product key.  I don't see any way to download the game without paying for it (again).

Go to help.ea.com, click on "Talk with a Game Advisor", and they can walk you though the steps for getting your CD Key to work in EA Origin.
