did you receive more xp for killing baron arlange for killing him the first time (at the end of the wyvern hunt) or did you receive more xp by allowing him to the live the first time, side with tallis, and then killing him during a second fight, or did you receive more xp for fighting the ghast that replace him when you kill him the first time ?
this is in the mark of the assassin dlc btw.

If you don't get more xp from fighting him a second time, I'm sure it's not much less. Either way, I always manage to hit level 30 before everything is done.

Does it matter? A levels beyond 25 any build is pretty much as polished as can be. I often found myself wishing there was a feature allowing to trade unused skillpoints into extra attributes. Maximizing xp is important in act 1 and 2. Maybe also if you play the dlcs before act 3.
If there was a difference, it won't be more than a couple hundred xp.
Besides, it seems only logical, no? The first fight is always the same enemies, the baron lives/dies AFTER the fight's over, so the xp is already fixed. If you fight him the second time, it shouldn't deplete your previous xp reward.
