We all know Bioware will make a pre-order DLC character that is otherwise $10. I'm not going to let this trick me a third-time just to get a sub-par game on release. I think i'll wait a few weeks for it to drop to $30 like ME3and DA2 did. Anybody else not going to be tricked by Bioware again?

There's no trickery involved.

And once they announce a release date, I will happily pre-order.

They trick you with fantastic trailers and awesome looking DLC just to get a rushed piece of crap.

I had to wait a lot more than a few weeks for ME3 to drop to $40.

Most video game trailers are "fantastic" - the nature of the trailer is to entice, to show the world and draw interest. And I enjoyed the DLC that DA2 had, so I was quite pleased with my pre-order, and more than happy to purchase Legacy and MotA afterwards.

It's your call where you want to put your money, but I'm looking forward to another game.

Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to it too, just not going to pre-order. I also buy DLC (skipped MotA though) for the game, but there is no point to buy the game for the full price when it will drop very fast and it does not have the quality it should have because it was rushed.

I very rarely pre-order, and won't be purchasing DA III until I see fan reviews and in-game clips on YouTube.

It's not "trickery",   Trickery would be if  they did something dishonest or deceitful.  Offering a DLC-only companion isn't that.  It's just lazy, hamfisted marketing to try and boost pre-orders.  And Trailers?  I've never in my life bought a game because  its trailer impressed me.    The opposite is true, I've often times bought a game inspite of its silly Hollywood-esque trailer, not because of it

But that said,  I'm  not going to pre-order DA3 no matter what.  I'm gonna wait a nice LONG time for all the  unadvertized 'secrets" to be out in the open.  For all the reviews to come in; for all the forum members to voice their opinions on the game.

I'm specifically going to look for statements like:  "this is like a polished DA2"  or  "this Feels like DA:O".  It's comments like that that will make me decide whether I buy the game or not.

I'll be preordering. I got DA2 a few months after it came out (I came to the series late and was catching up on DA:O) and bought it for 6 quid new, I think paying full price for the next game at launch is only fair. Especially since I really enjoyed DA2.

I remember there was a trailer of Mass Effect 3 (forgot what it was called). At one point, it said something about choices, then showed a scene on Thessia where, if you said one thing to the asari commander, you got gunship support, and if you said something else you did not. In reality, both choices got you gunship support. That's trickery.

I'll pre-order the collector's edition as long as it's not more than $80.

The fantastic trailers are done by Blur, a company that isn't part of EA/BioWare, and I don't think anyone actually believes the game will look that well rendered.

I've never thought any of the day one DLCs were awesome looking.

I will be pre-ordering the game. I don't see what the risk is in doing so. If I don't like what I see up to launch...I'll cancel. It's really that simple...

As someone who wasn't happy with ME3 I'll be pre-ordering the collectors edition of DA3 without hesitation. Of course there is some crossover between teams but the DA and ME teams are different beasts. Also I was happy with DA2 and feel confident they will adequately address the few issues I had so there will be no 'trickery' involved.

I'm going to wait until information on the game is actually released before deciding, although I will probably pre-order the game.

Most likely....but with pre-order I can't go and pick it up at mid-night(unless Gamestop does a mid-night opening)

Depends on what the bonus is (if there is one). I'm still 'eh' on pre-ordering it, I'm just waiting for more information about the game. I am done supporting Mass Effect, but I enjoyed DA2 so I still have hope.

I'm waiting at least 1/2 a year before buying probably. The price would have dropped a bit, there would be patches (maybe a DLC) and maybe decent fan made hair mods by then.

If Bioware sends me a free lemon meringue pie, I will order DA3 tonight!

If they do not send the pie, then they will have to wait a while longer for the money.

You forgot the dao trailer buzz then? LOTS of people bought it thinking it was a different kind of game. MM music and action/diablo fast fast clicking/hacking.

Day one dlc meh...Shale was awesome through the entire game.

Seb's trailer/intro was awesome but that was all. imho

As far as ordering...it all depends. I'm guessing the drm will keep me away. (Origin is da ebil moreso than the wheel!)
