I've never preordered a game in my life, and I'm not gonna start now. What kind of silly behaviour is it anyway? Preordering a game you know very little about?

I prefer to hear word of mouth before buying anything.

Seconded, my thoughts exactly  Image IPB

I hear this all the time and to be honest it's starting to **** me off a little bit. How was Dragon Age 2 rushed exactly ?
How long should a games company take to develop a game? look at how long it took to make Diablo 3 and people STILL complained.

The fact is it doesnt matter wether it takes 6 months or 6 years to create the next game people will still find something to whine and moan about.

How exactly is it trickery that they sell you a DLC character ? If they told you it was included and THEN charged you that would beconsidered a trick. Do you understand the basic concept that a company has to make money in order to keep creating games ?

@JimboGee

While this is true it does not make the complaints about Dragon Age 2 any less valid or correct; and DA2 was indeed rushed - wanna know how I know?

The Devs said so.

They said that (after the release) that they should have taken a bit more time over it to polish the game more, but sadly had not been given an extension on the release date.

Can't remember where they said it tho.

EDIT:
To the OP.

No I am not going to pre-order DA3. Or any future BW game. They are off my pre-order list.

^^ lol the reuse of the same dungeons throughout the entire game wasn't proof enough?
I don't pre-order unless its a cheap indie game.  20 dollars is my limit.  And even then I have to know I'll love it before.  I got Torchlight for free for pre-ordering 2 thats good incentive and I'm very much enjoying the first game as I wait.I very much doubt I'll buy DA3 unless it ends up on a steam sale...... OH right......

That doesn't sound like something the devs would say.Brent Knowles praised  (skip to developement) how polished the game was.

No. I will not preorder Dragon Age 3.

I preordered Dragon Age 2, and that was a huge mistake. "Fool me once..."

Thirded. You are not "tricked" if you pre-order a game and get disappointed, you were being stupid. Do you expect gaming companies to highlight all the flaws in their trailer? Pffft.

Pre-ordering. :) Haters can hate.

This! It's pretty simple really. If you don't want to pre-order, then don't. No one is forcing you.

A) Brent Knowles wasn't a developer/writer/designer for DA2. He left not long after DA:O's release, stating Bioware was no longer the same company it was when started there.

B) He said that, after only playing the demo (he still hasn't played the full game according to his blog, which I follow), he was surprised by how much polish there was GIVEN THE SHORT DEVELOPMENT TIME. He was basically giving it kudos for even having a working game after barely over six months of development time.

Considering we know almost next to nothing on the game, I'll wait to make that decision.

Bit pointless to have discussion about this yet. There is so little known about the game.

When more details emerge I will decide if it's something that interests me or not.

Quite simple really.

That's what some of us are going to do.

This.

The thread seems like a thinly-veiled attempt at getting a circle jerk going of people who disliked DA2 to say they won't preorder.

The lead designer of Da:Origins G.O.T.Y who resigned because he didn't like the redesign of Da2 complimented how polished  the game was, even if it was based on the demo, which remained unaltered aside from cassandra's hair iirc.It seems my statement has more merit than originally implied =]

I am impressed at how put together the demo is after such a short
development cycle. It seemed mostly polished, only a couple minor
glitches and whatnot.

Overall I was impressed, the team really put together a strong title in such a short period of time.

I hardly ever pre-order anything. What's the point of gambling 60€ because you can't wait for a week to see if the game is any good?

I'll wait for GOTY edition. DLC can easily multiply the cost.

I dont know yet what I will do about Da3. I may end up pre-ordering it, if I see something that makes me confident its going to to be good. If not ill get it when I hear the reviews from the fans and trusted gamer sites..

Far too little is known about this game to say for sure one way or another. Once it is announced and there is actually something to see of the game, then I can decide.
