I hate EDI because she sucks. could have had Legion, Mordin, Wrex, meranda, or Jack instead of EDI and it would have been 10x better. Same goes for James the situation Vega

Want to tell us why she sucks?

Also, why blame her for the lack of ME2 squadmates? Why not blame Bioware? I don't follow your logic, if there was any in the first place.

Boring characters such as EDI or James, where used instead of enjoyable characters. EdI should have stayed that little blue orb i ignored in ME2

Want to tell me why they're boring? Lack of content? Lack of dialogue? Lack of interesting premise?

Ah.

Well, you can't make a generalization that most people hate EDI without some kind of statistical evidence to back it up. Why don't we make a poll?

Meh, EDI's alright, her dialogue is funny, the problem is that she's kinda bland, and I can't help but feel that they really railroaded a lot of the characters from ME2 in favor of characters like Vega, and EDI. While not bad, they just seem to lack the depth or interest that previous squad members generate and if Bioware were doing a ME4 or had more squadmembers overall this wouldn't be such a bad thing. But with the way it is, it just doesn't sit right.

EDI spoke in a monotone, which was a nice contrast to her jokes.  Don't blame EDI and James for BW excluding the ME2 characters.  Blame BW.  They could have included them but choose not to.  BW deserves full blame for this, so don't peg it on EDI or James.

Screw EDI! She was a waste of squadmate capacity. I would've prefer Ezno.

We can certainly dislike some characters for personal reasons.

But when it comes to hard evidence, EDI certainly gets alot of dialogue lines in ME3, as much as most other characters so i cannot see her as a boring character because of her lack of speech.

Now you may find her speech boring but that is totally subjective and many people will think the contrary.

When it comes to evidences, ME3 chars get more lines and banter than the whole ME2 roster. That is a fact.

Sure in ME2 i could talk to Mordin as much as i like but most of the time it would end with "Sorry i am busy right now and come see me later." Now i am not saying that ME2 chars were boring at all. I liked them all.

But i do not understand why people say EDI in ME3 has less content than ME2 chars. Evidences tend to prove the contrary when it comes to the number of lines spoken in game.

So maybe you'll consider taking the option that doesn't kill her.

Is that why people hate EDI? They resent her for making it a hard choice to destroy the Reapers. I reckon that's a sign they did a good job with her and Legion - there are people (myself included) who will avoid the easy path of destroy because we care about them enough to consider them worth saving.

I choose Green ending every time, I don't like wasting my time. I don't choose destroy because it wipes out the Geth.

I don't hate her. As a squad mate her presence is servicable, she doesn't stand out in any particular fashion but she has her uses on certain missions. Her real value (in game) comes during the conversations you have with her on the ship and Citadel. Her presence helps the story.

EDI is still better than Vega. I was waiting for Javik to offer to toss that meathead out the airlock but nothing. I don't mind EDI myself, found her kinda meh though. She offered some funny quips now and again but I loathed that whole romance arch with Joker, should have kept that lil joke in ME2 IMO. Thought she was good in combat though.

Is that hate towards EDI though or hate towards how character designers handled her body? I've mostly seen that people like EDI's character, but don't like that she got turned into a sexbot.

The breasts did not need to be nearly that prominent, though every LI except Miranda and Tali seem to have gone up a cup size or two. Also... cameltoe? On a robot?

Just... wonderful. EDI did not need to be sexualized; Joker's first reaction to it being staring at her and commenting about the sexual aesthetics of a /robot body/ is just weird. And of course:

"You have brittle bones. She's made of metal."

I don't blame the characters themselves, that's not what I was trying to get at. I'm just saying most people will dislike the characters because they are less familiar and we see them a lot, versus more familiar characters whom we see rarely or not at all if we were ignorant of the timer mechanic. It makes it seem like Bioware really railroaded ME2 Characters in favor of the new ones based on their appearances. It's not that the new characters are bad, it's just that we like the old characters as well and want to see more of them. We saw the same thing after ME1, but we always knew there was a chance we could see them again or have them on a squad in ME3, and at least we did have ME1 characters on our squad in ME2 where as in ME3 we have no characters on our squad who were also on our squad in ME2 and little hope of seeing them again beyond the possibility of a DLC.
