I was searching for silver games to Drellguard in, since it's the funnest class, and I consistently am a drain past wave 7 on gold, since I die a lot then. Stumbled into an in-progress wave 2 White/Geth/Silver match, and everyone was hiding in the little room. I thought that was stupid, so I did what I always do as a Drellguard in silver and ran around the map like a monkey on crack, grenading spawn points and shooting enemies in the head, all that. I think the team was notably irate at this, and if I'd gone down, I bet they would have let me die.
Wave 10 objective was complete. I ran off to start killing **** when I hear "Team mate is down!" three times in rapid succession. I charged back and got one up. He went and hugged a prime before I could get the second up. Got the second up while the third died (clearly hadn't been tapping 'A'). It was clear to me that these were intentional wipers, but it's silver, and I was level 18, so I wanted XP. Finished out the wave, and they did go to the LZ (I still ran around killing ****, since as I said, wanted more XP).
Soon as the match was over, I had just enough time to see that it was a dedicated White/Geth/Silver match before three boot icons hit my name.
It was... strange...
White/Geth/Silver why why why?!?

Get FBWGG on my Salarian Infiltrator.
They run to the room. I camp outside behind the wall. Guy starts yelling at me on the mike about how:
A) My Indra sucks.
C) My N7 rating sucks (I was around 500 at the time)
D) I need to get in the room with them.
This guy keeps running his mouth, so I muted the game in between waves 1 and 2 and turned on some classical music. I think it was Bach. Can't remember.
First 3 waves are uneventful. Wave 4, they all go down. Tried to revive them, but I didn't appreciate the yelling and they were surrounded, so I reversed and ran up top. Finish the wave off. Took a little bit, but shredded the prime that was up with the Piranha.
Wave 5, two of them go down, I revive one, go down right behind the counter, they proceed to ignore me, so I gel and run out. Wave ends uneventfully but I'm now fully aware that they are on the chat telling each other I suck.
Wave 6 goes fine since they decide to blow 10 missiles to kill 4 objectives. OK, whatever.
Waves 7, 8, and 9 I have to solo the back half on. I'm not reviving them on principle at this time. This was a massive undertaking for me as I was relatively new to Golds and this was pre Indra buff and pre Piranha nerf (my other gun in all this).
Wave 10 we get high value targets again. Of course they go down, absolutely overrun.
Luckily I had my missiles. Cleared the objectives AND finished a full extraction. Turns out the camping made them WORSE. Anyway unmuted the game and I think I pulled around 140K that round and they all tried to friend me on Origin. So I just informed them all that I actually stink at ME3 multiplayer.............and that was that lol.

Not much of a horror story, but...
I had just promoted and was looking for a bronze match to level up. I got dropped into FBW, saw geth, then saw that the other three team members were hunkered down behind the counters. "Great", I think, "dropped into a gold farming match with a level 1!".
I was going to drop-out immediately, but something made me hit my start button (I'm on xbox)...
Bronze...
They were farming on BRONZE!!!!
... and they started a barbeque, in the middle ....
... and they opened their beers .......
and HORROR!!! the beer was not COLD ........

I was so freakin' grumpy just throwing grenades at the same spot with my Demolisher.
I have a hard time being grumpy while throwing grenades with my Demolisher, even if it's on FBW.

Why do people insist on camping here? No tactical advantage and it just forces enemies around the back of the counters.Zanzibaarus wrote...
Only time these types of matches for me went awry were when an idiot or two decided to camp outside of the building behind the L-shaped cover wall.

I really wish enemy faction was random and players could vote on three random maps, it would help with the problem of farming and by extension the "balance" changes aimed at curbing said farming.

Everything is cold at Firebase White. No one wants to be assigned there.
Except the Volus. Something about heat reduction in their suits, I don't get it either.

SE's that don't use Decoy.
Had one of those earlier tonight, kept running off and getting himself killed, eventually around wave 6 he realised he was better off staying with the group.
Also people that decide they dont want to stay in the "camp zone" and stand outside the building, eventually getting downed and allowing primes, hunters et al around behind the rest of us.

It's not a horror story, but I equipped my Fury and randomed up, got FBW Geth Gold, people run down to the counter and blah...I run around the map and explode things before it ever gets down there. Eventually they came out of hiding and joined me. It was fun, haha.
This happened to me the other day to. I was lookin' for a U/U/G game as a salarian engineer, but got dumped in a FBW/G/G game. Not wanting to sit in the camp room or waste consumeables, I took the stairs and upper area by myself. By halfway through, a camping salarian engineer defected and never left my side for the rest of the match. Eventually the asari adept and geth engineer started coming up when they realised we had all the enemies with us.

The horror is that you have to play WGG sometimes if you don't want to spend 30 minutes looking for a random game. I don't always play WGG, but when I do I'm not there to grief the credit grinders, I go down and do my job in the camping spot. Although many of you claim to go rambo around killing everything while everyone else hides, I have never seen that work and whenever someone does try that they eventually come slinking back downstairs after getting killed enough times with no res.
I really wish enemy faction was random and players could vote on three random maps, it would help with the problem of farming and by extension the "balance" changes aimed at curbing said farming.
Try it with a Krogan Vanguard. Throw on a shield booster V, maybe something to improve power recharge, spec barriers for DR, Fitness for health/shields, and BC for max barriers. There may be a moment where you have a prime and three pyros shooting at you at once, and you'll doubt you can survive. When that moment comes, survival ops packs are your friend.
I do that with a Piranha. Good fun, and it really isn't that difficult.
