Why do people even care about Harbinger? He was there shooting lasers at you. Did you seriously want to hear more lame one-liners?

No, I want to here more Virmire and Arrival style Conversations.

Saren spent a whole game going after me, I wanted to speak to him, the collectors spent ages trying to get me, I wanted to learn more about them, Naturally, I want to learn more or speak to the main enemy.

Lol, I can't make any sense of what that woman says.

It's like she's trying to ****** people off and get them to leave.

Maybe line could be taken out of context?

I'd have to see what the conversation was above as its all to easy to take one simple line and destroy the context that said sentence was placed in.

Care to post the whole thing so i can get a better understanding?

Sure. I can even link it to you if you want. https://twitter.com/...758994482499584
Me: Can you give an answer to why Harbinger never spoke in me3?
Jessica: we know that's what you hoped to see, but sometimes we have other ideas we want to explore - never get too attached to a plot

I think she just trying to say never except  one thing becuase ideas are always changing....

Merizan was referring to "cut" content; stuff that for one reason or another didn't quite work with the direction they chose to go. I really don't think she was referring to any one specific thing. Sometimes, stuff gets cut, and it's a good idea to not get too worked up over it when they get cut. It happens for a reason.

That would be fine, however it was a huge part of the game. You can't just cut established plotlines of the story with no explanation whatsoever.
Something like what happened with Morinth, I can kind of understand this applying to, even though that was poorly done as well, but doing this with Harbinger is just unbelievable.

I don't really see how what else she said makes it okay. She is talking about the primary antogonist. This isn't just some side plot or one that hadn't been heavily developed. This was a major storyline. For instance, what if mass effect 1 and 2 had been all the same and in the 3rd one the Reapers just suddenly didn't want to harvest humanity, but instead you had to deal with the dark energy problem. Would that be acceptable, because you shouldn't get too attached to a plot?

Except Harby wasn't the big bad guy across the series.  Hell, you didn't even know he was a Reaper until the end of 2.

Her point isn't that Harby isn't important, it's that Harby wasn't important to ME3.  Agree or disagree with how they handled ME3s story however you want.. her explination as to why he wasn't there is they wanted to go in a different direction.  And again:  he got nothing but hate on the forums while they were developing 3.

Do you blame them for thinking maybe not to include his trolling ways in 3?

Ares are you serious? on the ME2 forums people HATED harby and wanted Sovereign back!
(Me personally I loved both) but yeah. At first people on the BSN wanted to draw and quarter harby and his one liners.

But at least we got to hear one of the reapers talk (rannoch) and harbinger did speak of shepard (probably complaints I reckon, "He hurt us and all that")

I think people are reading way too much into that line. While it could have been said better, it makes sense in context.

For instance, I got too attached to the "back from the dead" plotline in the opening of ME2, which was never even mentioned again except in a few jokes. I also was attached to a side quest character in ME1 that I'm sure no one else even remembers. Not every plot is given the attention you might think it deserves; some are prioritized over others in a project like this.

Just because the plotline in question was important to the fans doesn't mean Jessica's advice should be taken out of context and twisted to cause an uproar.

You talked to one of the smaller Reapers on Rannoch, and there'll probably be another Reaper conversation in the Leviathan DLC.

When I bought mass effect 3, I bought it under the impression that it would wrap up storylines presented to me in the second game. If a writer is thinking about introducing an entirely new concept into the 3rd game, but it never made it in, that's fine. However, Harbinger was established throughout the entire game. I believe this answer is a terrible defense of terrible storytelling.

This... this is too easy.

No... I won't do it.  I don't play teeball.

...

...

Damn it.  Yes, I will.

Maybe you need to grow up and get a job, too.

That was due to his trolling nature and stuff.
His Arrival conversation is good, and Sovereigns Virmire one is excellent, that's what reaper conversation should be like.

This phrase could be applied to more than just harbinger in me3 by the average reader. She may want to rephrase herself.

The Arrival thing was hardly a conversation. He just said the usual "you cannot stop us", "prepare etc." bullcrap that he had been saying for the entire game. it was only like, what, three or four lines.

The Rannoch reaper is not Harbinger, or even a Capitol ship for that matter. It's not in the same league.
I do hope there is one in Leviathian.

I never had a problem with Harbinger and his lines, just because the ME2 forums was like that doesn't mean everyone hated Harbinger, sure some people liked Sovereign more and yea Harbinger was kinda of a troll. The Human Reaper was the real thing people didn't like in ME2

a random Reaper Destroyer over the oldest first True Reaper who should have been leader isn't nowhere near equal

F4H,
Also we learned more about the collectors and through the starkid we learned about the reapers. So Harbinger himself is no longer really necessary other than as a named baddie. No real reason to interact with him on a personal level...especially if hes blowing stuff up.

No one is taking this out of context, we have the full conversation. I'm not even sure what you mean you got too attached to that plotline, it set up the entire game and was even The Illusive Man's primary argument for keeping the collector base.
TIM:"Some people would say what we did to you was going too far, but look at what you've accomplished."
And what plots do you mean exactly? Diana Allers? The kid? I don't think there's an excuse for this.
