I loved all of the Final Fantasy games for example, whch were heavy in pre-rendered story, but... it does seem like there is just a bit too much pre-rendered story in Dragon Age, even to me. Anyone else feel this way? I am an old school RPGer and trust me I have a lot of patience. I think DA is a great game but it's my opinion that the story is a bit overdone and drags on for too long in some places vs the actual gameplay.
I think user-generated content can definately remedy this however.
Amount of pre-rendered story overdone a bit in my opinion

What do you mean exactly? that there is little gameplay time or that there are too many cutscenes/dialogues? because I myself wouldn't have minded a few more epic cutscenes.
If something I'd love if the game was a little bit more cinematic but able to preserve the wide variety of choices you
can make, which is kinda difficult but a step that needs to be taken nonetheless IMO.

How far are you in the game, GeneralATK? My feeling is that there are fewer pre-rendered scenes as you get further into the game. After I leave Lothering I sometimes wish there were more pre-rendered scenes to give me a breather from combat.

Pretty far now almost done with 1st playthrough.... I know you can just hit escape if you want to skip them.
The gameplay itself in terms of functionality is great, I am not saying it is bad.
I don't know... it just seems there is more talk than dungeon-delving action although I must say without giving any spoilers that the dwarves did have their hands full.

No, I loved it! there wasnt too much. This game is the first of many dragon age games to come and needs as much backstory as possible.

& here I was wishing for more pre-rendered cutscenes.
or ANY at all, considering that [almost] none are near the quality of "Sacred Ashes" or some other trailers.

The game is more like an audio storybook. Tons of dialogue, not that much combat.
