I felt a little awkward watching Leliana's singing cutscene, so I spent the last few days making this.

I'd appreciate any feedback, and I'd be happy to answer any questions about making it (using the cutscene editor, FaceFX, capturing video, etc.).

While I did actually enjoy the original version of the cutscene, this is well done! It looked extremely natural, and it was almost as if that *really* was the song she was supposed to be singing. I'm curious as how you got the lip syncing to work with the song itself, however...

It is very well done, indeed. I felt that it could use some more light in certain places where her face is extremely dark. It does look very natural and the light dawning on her during the 'bathed in light' was great!

The sex scene...awesome! :)

Leliana sings with an 'animate face' event in the cutscene editor. I removed it and created a new one. I went into FaceFX, deleted the blank new animation and created a new one with the same name (so it can be posted back to the game). When creating this new animation, I imported the audio of the song. Unfortunately, the excellent automatic lipsyncing thing can't really cope with singing, especially when the music is on the same track. So, I manually added and positioned phonemes in the animation editor. This is actually not very complex, just a little tedious. You don't need to manipulate the curves for animating each part of the face, you just need to specify what noise is being made by the speaker and when. I ran into a few weird animations and a few bits of it are sloppy on my part, but overall I'm happy with how it came out.

Also note that when you post this animation back to the editor, it doesn't actually include any audio; so you can't really tell how the animation matches up to the sound in the scene itself. To remedy this, I gave Alistair a 'speak line' event whose audio was the entire song, so that I could match it up.

EDIT: As to the light, sadly it came out very dark on Youtube.
