I'm going to have to completely agree on 999's axe ending and mention basically every single ending in Waxworks. The latter can be such a punishing game difficulty-wise and you pretty much have to get used to seeing graphic game over screens as you make you way through it.

Ok, that dude in the Elvira shot does not, in fact, look like he'd like to play again.

Not something I've played, but I youtubed it. Fun for the whole family. ;)

EDIT: Okay, now I feel completely silly posting this after all that waxworks insanity, but hey, I was a kid, this scared me.

And then it plays the Main Title Theme which doubles as a "You killed EVERYONE" theme...doesn't really fit, though.

In the what? What other game over screens that scared you?

I was poking fun at The Sopranos.

You mean the game over screen from "The Sopranos: Road to Respect", I understand how you feel when you were young. And that's why some game over screens that are scary, sad, distorted, and depressing.

When I was little I was always slightly creeped out by Total Distortion's game over screen/song:

(might want to turn off the annoying annotations)

That whole game was bizarre and kind of creepy for a little kid though.

WTF, really? Okay, I get it, I understand, but I never played this game before when I was young.

The Dark Souls one isn't that scarey but after spending the whole time playing feeling rather on edge it does neatly confirm absolute failure.

Okay, let me get this straight, when I saw my brother and my friend played Judge Dredd for PS1, it's an arcade shooting, and my brother got a game over that really frightening me as a kid because he ran out of continues, and then my friend played that game and got a game over when he's at 2-1 and it got me scared because of the laughing skull and a flame writing that fit the screen and it saids "GAME OVER". And yes, I played that game, and I don't know if I played this game or what.
