It has NOTHING to do with the fact he's gay. I just really don't like him. I didn't see the need to cram a pilot into the end of the triology and try to make him one of the most important characters.
Actually that probably is BECAUSE he's gay. I don't dislike him because he's gay, but he's rammed down my throat because he's gay. It's political correctness crap. Video games are my escape from this kinda thing.
So basically, you're saying that you dislike him b/c he's gay and that video games are your escape from teh geys.

One can expect how a thread like this is going to end up. Steve is not the problem here. The homophobes are.
Because I would rather them hire Tali, Ashley, Vega or Garrus to talk me through Leviathan rather than a tacky pilot character who's only purpose of being in the game is his sexuality.... I am homophobic?
Not at all. There is nothing homophobic or wrong in seeing that not everyone needs to be gay, and gay people do not always need to be presented in a positive light or take the spotlight from straight people. That is not homophobic..
He is a bland character with no depth beside the fact he is gay. People like you who cry homophobia or racism every time a black or gay person is criticized, add to the problem, don't solve it. I am as entitled to call Steve a crap character as you are entitled to call Joker a crap character.

If I were gay, I'd be insulted by Steve in all honesty. Gay people are people like everyone else. They are not just "gay". This characters only defining characteristic is his sexuality.
If someone bashes a character because they do not like him, to accuse them of being homophobic is just causing more tension. Steve is badly written. You know who else is badly written? Vega. Am I being heterophobic? No.

Even though I don't care for him, I don't see why people are complaining about him being in the game. After you're introduced to him you don't have to hardly ever talk to him again.

You haven't read what I'm saying or understand what I'm saying. I'm sure you see one gay man in ME as a victory for gays. In actuality it's an insult. Why couldn't the Illusive man be gay? Because he's a bad guy. Why do gay people have to be shown in a good light? Why does Cortez, the unimportant pilot character get "stevvve" scene, instead of a character that people care about? Because he is gay.
This kind of writing is homophobic inside of itself. You can write a bad gay character. You can write a gay character who is not a hero. You can write a gay character who doesn't introduce himself with "hi there, i am gay".
What characteristics does this character have besides his sexuality? At least Traynor develops throughout the game, and becomes a better marine and consultant every time she spots something. Steve is just there as the "Gay option". Nothing more or less.
You obviously have no retort other than "homophobe" so no point arguing with you, but you miss the point completely. He's a bad character. The fact he is gay, doesn't make him a better or worse character, he's still bad.
