Would BSN feel cheated if Morrigan had a son in DA3 regardless of choice?

They could probably give your dead Warden a couple of scenes in the Fade if you chose Ultimate Sacrifice.. I'm pretty sure they will at least try to make things fair :)

I would love to see the ghost of my warden appear to tell Alistair she still loves him and will wait for him, how romantic

I would expect it to be so, too. changing and not adding just for some players. I was just sharing my experience and hopefully trying to lure someone from Bioware into answering. We love any tidbits from them, don't we? :wizard:

I don't think the OGB should add content as such, nor should it take away content. I think it should just alter who starts off in a better position, Flemeth or Morrigan. If they are going head to head like it appears they are, whoever has the OGB should theoretically be stronger than the other.

Asset Acquired: OGB (+10 to Team Morrigan).

Morrigan still disapproves.

It seems that those who espoused the Ultimate Sacrifice and preached that bioware shouldn't have anything to do with the Warden, Morrigan or OGB in future games,....are jealous of those that did the Dark Ritual and may now receive resolution in game content?

But as you said before, your warden is dead, Morrigan didn't have an OGB, and that their story in Thedas is over to you. Why would you want any extra context to expound on this?

I'm not sure what anyone who did the U.S. would expect to have in "makeup" content. If you did the DR, your Warden lived and the OGB was conceived. If you didn't, the Blight is over and your character died. Unless the fact that your Warden is not alive can have a correspondingly deep questline as an Old God being reawakened and uncorrupt in the body of a human... then you probably should keep your expectations low of matching content.

Not necessarily.  You're forgetting the Alistair/Loghain sacrificing themself option.

That said, I think importing decisions is kind of silly.  Not only does it create divisions among the player base (one only needs to look at the renegade vs. paragon anger on the Mass Effect boards) but it requires the company to create a lot of content that only a portion of the player base will have the opportunity to experience (if they picked correctly in the previous games.)  Especially given the scale of some of the decisions in the DA games, it just doesn't seem like it's worth it to me.  So pick whichever canon you want, Bioware, and go for it.

So no, it wouldn't bother me, I guess is what I'm saying.

I don't expect anything but what I'd like to see is the ghost of my warden possibly given the protagonist some Advice/insight or having a touching moment with their former flame seeing as how the US just brings everything to a halt without a good bye. It's not like this type of thing hasn't been done before either, in legacy if leandra is dead, her ghost appears to hawke to talk about his father.

Jealous? Interesting perspective. As if your choices in your game were the right ones. Get off your high horse. I stand by my choices and wouldn't import any other save. What I would like is to have the same amount of content as everyone else, a different resolution or a different path. And you need only common sense to trust Bioware to do just that, as to not alienate part of their audience with a diminished-content game.

1)  I respect and understand your wish to see your Warden's ghost.  I want to see my alive Warden probably just as much if not more.

2) I thought Hawke was just imagining what his mother would say to him at that point in his life while he was contemplating everything that had just happened.  Really, well done scene imo.  Too bad that wasn't in the original released DA2 game.

I didn't say that the Dark Ritual was the right choice,  just the choice that led to extra content in regards to your warden still being alive, has an Old God Baby and is available to interact in the world of Thedas.   You chose death.  Dead is Dead.  Why should you be upset if you have to settle for less content due to your player's choice?  What happened to Player's Agency  and expecting Bioware to respect your decision that your Warden didn't have an Old God Baby and is no longer in the world of Thedas?

You could always play that content if you do the Dark Ritual and import that through the other games.  It's not like your locked out unless you do multiplayer.
But oh no, now we got people wanting ghost Wardens!!Image IPB

As long as it fits into the choices we already made then it's fine.  I'm thinking about that conversation you can have with Morrigan in camp when you ask her if she can transform into other humans.  She said she would have to study that human and that gained her nothing.  I'm thinking that Morrigan had more than enough time and interest to study the Warden.  An option exists where Morrigan could disguised herself as a female Warden and go to either Allister, Loghane or the other warden whose name escapes me the night before the final battle.  The deception would never be revealed because if you don't choose the dark ritual only the Warden or Allister would have survived that battle.

If push came to shove Morrigan can just say she seduced the third warden. Either way, as long as choices aren't retconned, then I'm ok.  It is completly within Morrigan's character to use whatever means are at her disposal at the time to complete the ritual.  As long as the choices made are reflected somehow and there are differences in how it plays out as defined by your choices then I'm ok with it.

You still don't get it. I don't want my warden to come back. He's dead, due to an incredible sacrifice; Alistair did an awesome eulogy and that's that. I do have another character (elf mage), that went through Awakening and Witch Hunt, as most people who chose the sacrifice probably also have, but he obviously has nothing to do with the OGB.

What I am expecting to happen, due to player agency and due to DA3 being a new game, is for content to be created, for those who have chosen the sacrifice, to replace what others will go through with the OGB.
Unless Bioware is willing to charge me 40€ and charge you 60€ for DA3, they won't leave anyone hanging, I'd wager, since David Gaider has stated that the OGB part won't just be a footnote. That probably equates to a few hours of gameplay. Think out of only the lore's realm.

What Jerrybnsn said makes perfect sense. So people with dead Wardens want additional content created for them because people who romanced Morrigan or performed DR get some, and that 'wouldn't be fair'? Ha! Fail.

So, what, you want extra content for your dead character? Or, better yet, you want Bioware to wedge in something completely new just because you chose sacrifice? Give me a break. Up until Gaider's post regarding this, the vast majority of people with dead Wardens were always go on about the Warden's story being over, and Bioware should just move on. But now, since apparently after waiting three years and playing through a sequel that didn't say squat about it, us people who pursued a Morrigan romance/Dark Ritual will finally get some answers, it's suddenly unfair to people with dead Wardens because we get a candy bar that's a bit bigger? Give me a fricking break. And if you don't get extra content that Bioware now has to pull out of thin air, you demand the game at a cheaper price? Pfffttt, ridiculous.

So what do want resolved with committing the Ultimate Sacrifice?

And, as I said before, the consequences for the Dark Ritual are there for you in the game if you so choose to take them. Sort of like we can't demand to be charged for a lesser game because we don't plan on going through the ten extra hours of sidequests.

Your wardens dead too, laidlaw announced over twitter that it was highly unlikely they'd bring the warden and hawke back because they didn't feel they could do our personal warden's service.

"Don't tell me it can't be done, tell me how are we going to do it."

Simple.  Go back to the better artstyle of DA Origins and make the Warden's appearence and interaction as a silent protagonist for a brief period.  Win-win!

I did DR and I am all for a little goodbye scene for people who did US. Why not ? Don't be petty people! It's not like it hurts your gaming if someone else gets some closure!

If you did the US, you most certainly DID get quite the emotional "goodbye" scene at the end of Origins. Not sure why we'd need a second one.

That's the thing. I don't need closure. I had all the closure I needed right there at the end of DA:O.

What I want is my 5 hours (yes, I just made up those 5 hours, it can be longer or shorter, we have no clue) of extra gameplay if people who did the DR get 5 hours as well. You can call it petty or egotistical or whatever you want. If I'm paying the same as everyone else and getting a shorter game, I will be pissed that my candy bar has less chocolate! So yes, I'd like something else to make up for that because I love Dragon Age and the more I get to play, the happier I'll be. :bandit:

As someone that did both options in various playthroughs, as far as content ones - both should be equal. Having hours of gameplay because you did the ritual, or lacking that much content because your character scarified themselves to stop the Blight, is pretty unfair. If they could go down this route, it should be balanced for both sides.
Honestly, if the outcome for preforming the ritual is more than a footnote, I hope it acts more like war assets, if a big showdown goes on between Morrigan and Flemeth.

Making the Ogb canon is Impossible without a full retcon which I can Assure you will not be taken in with open arms, especially after the whole me3 debacle over choices not mattering and 'space magic' =]

While I won't discuss how the Dark Ritual decision will affect future games, I can say (and have said) that the choice won't be ignored-- it's pretty fundamental. So Morrigan will have a son only if she either romanced a male Warden or if the Dark Ritual was performed... and in only the latter case will that son be the so-called OGB.

Whether how the Dark Ritual affects future games is considered sufficient is a different matter completely. Considering that some people have expressed that the existence of the OGB should be the entire plot around which such a game revolves, it's perhaps unlikely. That kind of expectation can't be helped. Regardless, the choice will neither be ignored nor made into a footnote.

Does that mean if Morrigan isn't romanced and the Dark Ritual isn't performed she will have a daughter?Image IPB

How is it unfair?  Just because I chose not to seek out the Ander's romance in DA2 doesn't mean I should demand extra content to replace what I chose to not play out.

What happened to the integrity of making the US decision?  Prior to any illusion of dealing with the OGB in future games, pro-US were against any content that would demean their decision of not having an alive Warden nor a Morrigan with an OGB.  You got what you wanted in player integrity if you did the US.

Not at all. I couldn't care less about the OGB because I chose not to allow him to come into being. Flemeth's intentions and who she was/is/will be is what my ideal candy bar is all about. That's why I was so pumped when I first played the DA2 demo, she was in it left, right and center and I thought the game would be about her! And Morrigan as well. We all know how that turned out... Rage levels, increasing. :pinched:
