I noticed in the non-import playthrouth that 90% of the dialogue lines that mentions specific events in ME1 & ME2 are either removed or replaced, for example in the Mars mission the decision to keep or destroy the collector base in ME2 will never be mentioned in the non-import playthrough.

My question is what do you think is the point of removing these lines?

Simple answer they wanted mass effect 3 to be a stand alone title or separate from the rest of the me series also explains why the wii u isn't at least getting mass effect 2

So as not to confuse new players.

Now, my question; what exactly are you doing playing a non-import?

The only difference I notice is that Anderson says "sh!t" in the introduction. Deep stuff right there.

So Wii U players don't get confused.

This is similar to when you play Mass Effect 2 using a new import or the Gensis option.  I am playing a soldier in Mass Effect 2 to see if the game differs in ME3 and I am surprise how much of the dialogue has changed in Mass Effect 2, even though I was doing it for ME 3.

No reason to not play a non-import game unless you have a save with very specific tags. There are a number of things you can see/do in a non-import game that most imports won't have.

Playing a non-import playthrough might give you a bit more appreciation for your imported one and how much it actually accounted for.

The non-import playthrough is pretty dark. It won't make you love the game if you didnt before, but many of the plot points along the way turn out very different. Usually for the worse.

I'm also surprised how many characters are missing in a non import play through like Thane, Samara and Jack.

My first playthrough was a non-import because I had not played the other games, and one of the things that caused me to go back and buy the first 2 was the fact that I heard you could make various parts of the story come out differently. The non-import playthrough, as someone stated before, is A LOT darker in terms of your options, you cannot save nearly as many people. In fact, people dying during missions is so prevalent in a non-import game that when I finally completed a mission without losing anyone, I literally jumped out of my chair and cheered.
