I also really like this, budget allowing of course. There are certainly TV shows and channels that skew to a higher female audience. Those seem like the perfect venue for such gender-specific trailers.

I'll add though that I clearly remember watching the commercials for DAO, and being enthralled every time they came on, despite the male PC.

I usually play male characters, but I actually agree that it would be nice to see a female protagonist in the CGI's. - I do hope that if they have any more iconic looks for the protagonist like Hawke or Sheppard, I sincerely hope that we can modify those faces as we wish. I found it incredibly annoying when I couldn't use the deafult head as a base to modify. If I want to use a deafult shepard/hawke with just a different hairstyle and other smaller changes, let me.

I also play male characters (more fun for me), but as a female gamer, ABSOLUTELY 100% YES I think the iconic character should be female!

A person of color would be even better. And yes they do need to work on their skin tones, but what better motivation?

The odd thing about that is I have a bunch of skin mods for DA:O that include darker skintones, and they mostly manage to completely avoid that whole "the darkest skin tones look purple" thing that the default range has going on. I don't know why the default does that but it's clearly avoidable.

It was dumb when they did it with Hawke and it would still be dumb now.

It worked for Shepard because ME was about Shepard. Dragon Age 2 wasn't about Hawke, Hawke had hardly anything to do with the story.

Sure, I guess they could try to market the game to minorities if they have little confidence that their product will stand on its own. Just don't blame racists or homophobia if your game still turns out to be crap.

No need to be politically correct. Marketing is tricky-- you only have a few seconds, if that, to grab a potential customer's attention. Confusing new people with multiple forms of the same protagonist isn't usually a good idea.

In ME3's case, it worked, because Shepard had been in two games prior. FemShep had a sort of little cult following her; most potential customers understood her existence by then.

It seems the days of the great Fable, KoA, ME 1,Mass Effect 2 are gone where the male is the main protagonist,if Da3 makes female PC canon, they are asking for trouble. Maybe u forgot there are more male players than females.
@OP-Ur asking too much u do know that Fable only male hero, u shud be happy that BW allows Female PCs at all.

I think a woman should be included in DA3 marketing, as well as a man, since the game will (or at least, it better) feature the option to play as either gender.
