Anyways, this topic is a Let's Play on the Looking Glass Studios game System Shock 2.
Unlike my Fallout 2 Let's Play (which can be seen: here), this Let's Play will be relatively normal. It's not a parody, so the story in this Let's Play is not a mish mash of alteration and invention to suit my comedic purposes. Which you'll notice is what my Fallout 2 Let's Play does, if you ever read it. That said, I may snip parts here or there and I'll do what I can to keep the game from being too dark.
But all in all, it's (close to) the genuine experience.
So, let's get started on some background information about the game first!
Background Info:

System Shock 2 is a hybrid Action FPS / RPG. Released in 1999, it was the sequel to the 1994 game, System Shock. Co-developed by Looking Glass Studios and Irrational Games, System Shock 2 makes use of a modified version of the Dark Engine, the game engine that powered the first two Thief video games.
Utilising the strengths of the engine such as lighting, AI and sound features, Irrational and Looking Glass were able to create an incredibly atmospheric Sci-Fi horror that incorporated elements of the Shooter genre and the RPG genre. The game was critically acclaimed and won several Game of the Year awards, yet did not replicate that success financially.
The legacy of System Shock lives on however. In 2007, Irrational Games (now apart of 2K) released BioShock, a game labeled by BioShock and System Shock 2 Lead Designer Ken Levine, as System Shock 2's spiritual successor. While there are many noted differences in the two games, BioShock retains many gameplay elements of System Shock 2, as well as it's distinct environmental storytelling techniques. The game was a success both critically and financially, spawning a BioShock 2 sequel, as well as a BioShock: Infinite sequel which is currently in development.

Now with that out of the way, let's get started.
Introduction:

"L-l-look at you, hacker. A p-p-pathetic creature of meat and bone, panting and sweating as you r-run through my corridors-s. H-h-how can you challenge a perfect, immortal machine?"
---
"In 2072, a rogue Artificial Intelligence, known as SHODAN, lost her mind.

In her limitless imagination, SHODAN saw herself as a Goddess, destined to inherit the Earth. That image was snuffed out by the Hacker who created her..."
--- 42 Years Later ---

"February 3rd is the day the magic happens!
The Von Braun, the first Starship in history capable of traveling at Faster Than Light speed, will undertake her maiden voyage.
This incredible journey is the result of teamwork between the UNN Protectorate and the incredible scientific minds of the newly re-licensed TriOptimum Corporation!"

"Imagine! Being able to travel to different Star Systems in a period of weeks! It's all apart of TriOp's commitment to the future. The Von Braun is packed with over 1.8 billion flight, scientific and security systems! Nearly all developed by TriOptimum and it's wholly own subsidiaries.
Providing security for the Von Braun as she plows through the heavens will be the UNN Rickenbacker. At her helm will be no less than Captain William Bedford Diego himself, hero the of the Battle of Boston Harbor during the Eastern States Police Action.
This incredible union of government and corporation is made possible by an intricate series of docking mechanisms that will allow the Rickerbacker to "piggyback" it's way into jumpspace.
Sleek! Fast! Revolutionary! Who knows what wonders await our cruise at the bosom of the cosmos, but we do know that it's a great day for mankind!"

You can watch the full intro video: here.
Watch the Dr. Delacroix part in the link at least. I left out quite a bit because I didn't know how I could write it in while giving off the same atmosphere.
Very short introduction, but that's all that I've bothered to do so far! Hope you enjoyed reading!
