Alright, so this is odd...but I have used all the right dialog choices for Miranda...and I'm up to the point where she says she will see me when things get quiet or whatever.

However, I've been friendly with Tali...because I look at her as one of my shepards closest friends, along with Garrus.

The problem is...I just went to talk to her and she took me aside and said I had to choose between her or Miranda...and this completely caught me off guard. Not sure what I did...but how do I get out of or around this?

My only choices in that coversation are "I don't want to be exclusive" or "I only want you".

The first one seems to make me come off like a jackass...and the other one is not what I want.

I'm going for Miranda...and she still gives me the "when it's quite" dialog. However, I can't talk to Tali anymore because it only brings up the same dialog cutscene and my only choices are "I don't want to be exclusive" or "I only want you".

So am I basically forced not to talk to Tali anymore?

Or you could break up with miranda and make the better choice (Tali)

As far as Tali is concerned, you've been romancing her (or rather, as far as the game is concerned, you've been pursuing Tali). So if you really want Miranda, then yes, at this point your only options are to stop talking to Tali entirely, or take the "I don't want to be exclusive" option and then end it with her.

Somehow I always managed to avoid seducing Tali and Miranda when I didn't want to, it was Jack who always forced me into a surprise romance.

Actually, you have a third option available: you can avoid Tali for now, leaving her feelings unresolved; get it on with Miranda just before the suicide mission; then, after the mission, break up with Miranda, and be with Tali.

Another possibility is to use the Gibbed Save Editor to change the romance scores.
