What I do see happening is a bunch of what people said negative about the game to be analyzed and factored into the next game, just like what happened with Mass Effect 3, there is a lot of change in the game based on what is said on these very boards, we might not all like what was done, but that is the problem with the industry anymore, they are trying to open the game up to as many people as possible. I do think reviewers are a huge problem as well, for if you look at any game where you use guns and the first complaint they will make is that the game doesn't have multiplayer and companies look at those reviews and incorporate changes based on that information as well. That is part of the reason I believe more and more games are having certain features shoehorned *cough*multiplayer*cough* into the game, for that makes them believe players really want it.

Reboot in 10 years - yeah. Why not.

Oh wait, that's not something that would happen in a dream world. That's something that should happen in this day and age as a STANDARD. Because we CAN do everything that I just mentioned. And that is how ME3 should have gone, not the pathetic product that Bioware made in 15 months. THIS is what an AAA title would be, not ME3. ME3 is by far the most dissappointing games I've played in years.

In a dream world, Bioware would remake ME3 and have the ME2 crew on your ship from the get-go. There would be plenty of conversations between all crew members, and the crew would consist of the ME1+ME2 crew, plus one or two new characters. There would be plenty of exploration. The vehicle section would have the Mako return with the speed and agility of the Hammerhead. The combat system would stay the same, but the upgrades would be expanded upon ME1's style. You could customize the armor and colours of not just Shepard, but the entire crew! Your decisions would matter! No Deus Ex Machina would be needed to resolve the plot! There would be multiple endings!

The problem is there are a lot of people complaining about the opposite of what you are saying, there were complaints that your squadmates in ME1 were indisguinishable from Shepard, the "exploration" in ME1 and ME2 were horrible and should be modified to vastly different ideas, or the size of the squad in ME2 was just too big and removed the personal connection between Shepard and crew.
This is the problem BioWare faces, there are such vastly different opinions on what should be in the game that people walked away unhappy. Personally, I found Diablo 3 to be a much more disappointing game then Mass Effect 3.

Then those people are selfish.
A game with complexity is a game that appeals to the largest amount of people possible. It's a game that has something for everyone. The only people who would find that bad would be the people who can't stand complexity in the slightest. For them, Call of Duty is right along thataway.
Regardless, were you forced to do the exploration missions in ME1 with the Mako? No. Were you forced to mine planets in ME2? Maybe, but even then just enough to buy ship upgrades. I found the larger squad size to be great. It allowed people to connect to different characters, and helped define Shepard's character as he/she is made to interact with them all. It also helped the theme of the game, which was building a team to take on an enemy. The friendships and maybe relationships that develop helped the player feel more attached to his crew. Overall, you can still hate someone on the ME2 crew, but I doubt you could have EVERYONE.

The fact that it was enjoyable does not make it good.

Final Fantasy have never been RPGs. They always have static protagonists who act in a pre-defined way, but the early games did have many of the game mechanics associated with RPGs (ability to customize gear, skills and character selection) - though that has been put on the shelf in favor of pretty cutscenes and ridiculous character designs.MerchantGOL wrote...

Or that really is the definition of RPG and you and I don't actually like RPGs. Either way, what's the difference?
so every finalfantasy game isn't a rpg?
Japan's gaming market, Nintendo aside, is a dead horse so dead that it's ceased to exist as anything else than independent atoms flying apart from each other. What's left is people beating the ground where the dead horse used to lay. This is especially true for what passes for RPG's in Japan, and among them the modern Final Fantasy games are without a doubt the worst offenders.
The only recent game that I can remember that has come really close to the true definition of a RPG, at least in the mechanics department, is Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

So once upon a time I bought this game called Dead Rising 2. It had a new main character from DR1 and it was a good game. But a lot of people missed the original character.... so they made a new game called DR2 off the record.
It was the same principle, except for the fact that instead of Chuck going to Fortune City, Frank went instead. And it worked out fine, like two seperate games. You could choose the canon you wanted.
Would anyone else like to see a new ME3? Just pretend it never happened and start again from the ending of ME2. Guaranteed lots of money and a second chance to get it right. This time it could actually be a RPG with a coherent ending and not Gears of War lite. What do you think?
No
ME3 is fine, and Bioware already wasted enough giving people like you an extended cut you don't deserve for free.

I'll keep this in mind in the future when I half-ass my titles to my loyal fans. They will never stop being sheeple for me! They will never stop buying my products at a whim just because it's me!

Wait 10 years. They'll probably remake it then. That is, if BioWare will even exist at that point, which I seriously doubt. EA has its way with killing companies.

Or they could cut their loses, ignore ME3, and start a new Mass Effect trilogy with new characters, mostly new locales, etc.
OR they could find Doc Brown and have him jerry-rig a Flux-Capacitor to a Mac Walter's car, travel back in time to December 2010 and warn BioWare of the future.

Uh-huh. And why exactly would people believe them this time around when they start going on about our choices mattering and big consequences and variables after the disaster that was ME3?
