Shapeshift Mouse form and the Fade

Ok, so I got to the Sloth Demon and was brought into the Fade. I have advanced past the fake Duncan, and spoke with Niall and obtained my Shapeshift: Mouse form. I decided to head to the Darkspawn Invasion zone next. Anytime I use the stealth ability in mouse form, if I go anywhere even within the line of sight of an enemy I am brought into combat (the music begins to play, I cannot interact with anything EXCEPT enemies, and if I go Human form I am stuck in the combat pose still unable to interact). Is this a known bug or something or is anyone else experiencing this? The game has gone smoothly thus far and this is beginning to annoy me. if I am forced to kill all the enemies than why give me a stealth ability to sneak past? And if that is what I must do, is there anyway to get health poutices or activate the lyrium nodes while stuck in this combat state? Any ideas would be a great help.

You realise you can use the left and right buttons to select stuff while in combat? If they aren't working then yes it's a bug. You can also try to bring up your recticle and move the centre to try and select what ever you want.

When you choose the mouse shapeshift form, you automatically stealth. It does for me anyway, but it can take a few seconds to activate. When you say you are stuck in combat do you mean the screen freezes, or you enter the combat phase? If it's the former then it sounds like a bug, if it's the latter then complete the fight and carry on.
TBH, I didn't use Mouse form all that much in the fade, only to get through the holes.
