After all, they wouldn't give the job of commanding spies against the enemies of the Inquisition to some random non-believer off the street. Nor would they let a non-human have a role of such power in a human religion. Its like the Dalish making a Dwarf their Keeper of the Clan - just wouldn't happen.
Being a non-believer is probably less of a problem than being a heretic like the "left hand of the divine" is.
And the Chantry is not officially a human religion, but one that strives to be universal.

About the only thing I could think of that would be a 'dealbreaker' to me would be a 100% forced protaganist (i.e. Geralt) But doesnt sound like they're going that way, so nothing I'll fret about.
This, and if for some weird reason they decided to eliminate single player. That's about it for me, and neither of those are likely to happen so I would feel safe with a pre-order.

I don't know. Bioware games are sufficiently to my taste that I'd probably get sufficient enjoyment out of even a bad game of theres that it would be worth purchasing eventually.
edit: I don't know if DA2 was a good game, but I still enjoyed it a lot.

- Action over story
- No significnt work with dialogues.
- Arcade DA2-like combat without tactics and thought.
- Seekeror Chantry member protagonist.
- Lack of ability to choose along the gameplay.

2) No Warden
3) The Templar/Mage conflict is the main story (again)
4) Combat is the same over-the-top, oversized weapons

Auto-dialogue.
No race choice.
Paraphrasing.
Over the top combat.
Cartoon art style.
Only two choices in conversations (i.e. Paragon and Renegade).
Lack of RPG features.
Voiced player character.
No isometric view.
Forced iconic looks for companions and no companion customisation.
Railroading you to do missions even when you have said no.
Forcing you to be aligned with the chantry views.
DA2 style fetch quests.
DA2 style inventry (I.E. star system, lack of description of items, junk items).
Another companion like Fenris.

Oh yeah. That too. The inventory was so useless and ugly to look at. The UI definitly needs a fixin.

Haha, not that i do not agree with the list, because i like what i see, i think it's safe to say that you do not need to save your money for DA3.

Hold on, i didn't like that they had junk items in DA2 but would you seriously not buy DA3 if it was included?

A lot of people believe that a lack of an inventory system limits their "choice", and a lack of companion arms limits customization.would you seriously not buy DA3 if it was included?
It's an understandable concern, though i do agree with you. It hardly seems reason enough to boy-cot.

Good question. Could I have played Origins if I had to look at the same neon interface that served no real purpose? I liked the Origins menu system and how I could switch out on secondary weapons quickly, so I probably couldn't enjoy playing as much as I originally did. So, yeah, no preorder because the game wouldn't be worth a full price for a poor UI.
Oops! I'm getting my "pre-order" thread mixed up with my "purchase" thread.

3) Pretty much garaunteed to be the main story. DA2 ends with the beginning of a mage/templar war... Did you play it?
4) I'm against sephiroth-style swords in DA, but the problem was more the animations than the weapons themselves.
Also, back on topic...
No Morrigan or flemeth would be a dealbreaker.
Overly angsty, crazy characters with severe trust/moral issues. (I'm looking at you, Anders & Merril <_<)
Can't really think of anything else.

The only thing that would stop me from purchasing DA3 is the removal of the player's ability to select the PC's gender. Anything else I'll try out and see if I like but if I can't play a girl I'm just not playing!
Oh my god. I would be livid if that happened.
Otherwise... deal breaker for me would be... I don't even know. I would hate to have only two dialogue options like in ME3, but I don't think it would be a dealbreaker because I'd probably still buy and play the game (and I enjoyed ME3. It was just a little annoying to have that and autodialogue that might not fit my character). I think we're (hopefully) safe from that though, because if we're not playing a set person like Hawke or Shepard, then there isn't really a set personality already.
Hopefully. I'd still buy though. It would probably be the only one gender thing that would make me not buy.
