I'm directing this to those who have an apparent issue with this in general, again I know you're trying to get a rise out of people. Nobody can be that obtuse.
TCanon is everywhere throughout the ME series while that happens in most RPGs like Fallout, the Elder Scrolls, the Witcher, DA, KotOR, Neverwinter, Persona, and .Hack. The list can go on and on whether we're talking about Western or Eastern based RPGs.
Main character canon is never imposed in games such as this, or never should be imposed.
Hell part of the reason BioWare started to make their own IPs is because meddlers from Lucasfilm and whoever owns D&D kept doing just that, to the vast annoyance of everybody involved, developer and player alike.
Of the games you mentioned with customisable leads, only KotOR did this (due to external interference, KotOR2 let you choose Revan's gender) and Fallout 1 (which was such a dumb idea that it was never done again in the series).

And in the end, it doesn't matter what gender Shep is. Yes, Hale is a talented actress and you may have the most awesome FemShep I have yet to see, but it is what it is; it's just a game and FemShep has a very loyal and vocal fanbase which several surveys show is in the minority. Outside of the above, there is no other proof for gender because it doesn't matter. Shep is meant to dependent on our ideas and imagination, which is what good RPG should be. So stop insulting one another, it's just downright shameful.

Eh, I come and go. I stay long enough to voice my opinions in a respectable manner for Bioware to see and balance things out, then I leave as BSN is a very terrible place to be at times.

When people are obviously being a troll, I don't click any link the person provides. So not happening. Or why not answer the question since you were the one who brought up the books, what book backs up your statement? If you can't answer that, just say so or you will expose yourself as the troll everyone knows you are.Blueprotoss wrote...

The movie is destined to fail now that Bioware crapped over Shepard if they are making the movie about Shepard after all. So might be the 7 or 8 people that go watch it will actually care.

Truthfully, playing through ME3 the first time, it felt like I was leading my Shep to the slaughter the further the story progressed. I did LOL at the second statement though.

There have been movies/tv shows that changed endings of the source material. Or even if the movie isn't based on something, Hollywood has gone back and changed endings based on people's response to early viewing focus groups.
It's how LL Cool J wasn't a movie trope in Deep Blue Sea where black dude was going to die but the focus groups liked his character too much they went back and changed the ending so he lived. And that's just one example.
So the movie might do a FU to Bioware's Artistic Integrity.

No it isn't. Some people think it does because of a character in FNV that describes the potential son of the male Fallout 2 character.
It's an easter egg, and literally ANY male wanderer in Fallout 2's era could've sired Mr. Bishop. In other words it's a male chosen one's son if you want it to be, and only if you want it to be. That's the point.

Its made clear that it is the chosen one's son. The way he is described is similar to one of the ending slides of Fallout 2. It's not a piece of the Couriers dialouge, it is said by another character in the universe. It is canon until something proves otherwise. The Angry One wrote...
