There is no canon. There never has been.

People are assigning things to things Bioware has specifically stated ISN'T true.

My favorite quote from them "There is no canon in Mass Effect."

Really ****ing simple.

Thats like saying there's no cannon in the DA, Neverwinter, KotOR, and Baldur's Gate series.  Canon might be surprising them while it does happen.

Yet I'm not required to counter my own points while you are, which is one of the reasons why its an insult.  Its like you telling someone to do your homework because of your laziness.

My proof is pages 1-356 in Retribution and 1-342 in Ascention, no where on any of these pages is Shepard's gender specified, if you disagree with this specify on which page it says otherwise.

Proof was already posted, you just wrote it off and continued ranting.

Taking someone's word whether they're lieing or not isn't evidence.  If evidence can be shown then I'll be fine with being wrong.

Heres a novel idea: read the books/comics before citing them as proof to begin with.

Saying no without evidence is like "crying wolf".

Yet you aren't supplying evidence here and this isn't "my way or the highway".

Don't worry. Only the vast majority do.

80%.  Bioware says we're all missing out on Hale's awesome voice acting.  I choose broshep because I'm a guy and sploding things appeals to my male nature.  Plus Sheploo's hot and I like Meer's voice acting.

There is no canon pertaining to certain things. Like whether Shepard is male or female. Or who the LI was.

That's why the books and comics are written the way they are.

There is no canon in that regard.

The difference is people here have done their homework.  You have not.  Yet you struggle with them without having any leg to stand on.  Don't let me stop you tho.  It's been a facinating read.

Page 6-7 Retribution:
"Commander Shepard had discovered that human colonists were being abducted by the Collectors, a reclusive species that served the will of the Reapers without question. "

"Shepard-with Cerberus's help-had destroyed the Collector operations."

"The plan to replicate the Collector experiments would progress in secret, without Shepard's knowledge or involvement. The alliance between Cerberus and humanity's most famus hero had been uneasy at best; neither side had fully trusted the other. It was possible they might together again in the future, but for now the Illusive Man was only willing to rely on his own top agents."

No gender specified, now provide specific pages where Shepard is referred to as a male in either book or conceed the point.

Hasn't Drew said in the past that female Shep is cannon? Could have sworn I read him say that. Meer is a good voice actor but he doesn't suit Shepard at all for me. Hale all the way.

Never argue with stupid people; they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

I can guarantee to you that FemShep is not canon. She didn't even get put on the boxart until ME3, and it still comes with Sheploo on the outside. There is no canon.

I do have a single argument for MaleShep canonicity. In Anderson's shadow broker dossier, the first message will always refer to "Commander Shepard and his involvement in the attack on the Citadel" even if you use FemShep. It's probably just a mistake, but it is something.

It's a glitch, kinda funny too since Hackett still gets a message refering to shepard as her in that case. Apparently even the Alliance isn't 100% sure on the gender in that case.

I was really just joking anyway. I just find it funny that FemShep reads about herself being referred to as a "he."

People choose male Shepard? Really?

If they want some sense of realism, yes.

And the vast majority apparently do.

And why it is more real than choosing FemShep?

The US military still restricts infantry roles to men only.
