I know it have probably been discussed a dozen times before and that in some EC endings Shepard dosen't actually "die". But this question has been on my mind for the past tree weeks: Why did shepard had to die at the end of ME3?

I had no problem with them wanting to kill off Shepard. But Shepard should have went out as a hero and not as a punk that got trolled.

At no other point in the series does Shepard have to die, so this is more an ME2 question.

He didn't. Sacrafice is cool, especially when it's forced. Shepard had to be sacraficed so space magic could come to fruition. Quite beautiful, is it not?

Indeed I do. I also love watching Shepard's character derailed through several parts of the game and autodialogue.
