If the word on the street is true, that Bioware intends to build on synthesis 'canon' in the future, say no.

Or don't, that's fair. I however am firmly in the NO column. As much as I don't like Control, I could actually swallow that a little easier, but that's not saying much.

How about we say no to a canon ending?

At some point it will happen.

They never said it would happen through Shepard's actions. That's what they meant.

Also agree with this, but I especially don't want to see synthesis canonized.

This is disturbing...

Well this thread was specifically created to speak about Synthesis.
OT: I dearly hope not. Few people want canonized choices as is. Not to mention, the fact that our choices meant little enough in ME3... If this happened... Well people would not be happy.

This forum simply sucks, why do I even bother to log in...

One thread starts up, with a ****ty premise, then another with a slightly edited premise as a joke, its not funny.

Is the OP 9 or something?

I'm going to need to think of a third option that isn't as forehead-rubbing dumb as synthesis but still retains some of its feel-good crap...

I'm coming at this from the perspective of an ME3 ending critic who recently decided to replay the game for the first time since launch, and finding some enjoyment again despite the endings.

But this potential canon synthesis business is another sore spot.

I don't want synthesis canon any more than you do. Hell, I don't want any canon ending. Your topic serves as little more than flamebait though, especially with that title. While you're at it, why not create the threads "Say NO to destroy" and "Say NO to control"?

Synthesis WILL happen. But it doesn't have to be through Shepard's actions.

Somewhere, down the road, many, many thousands of years from now, Synthesis WILL occur.

But my Shepard will be long dead. It really isn't my issue or his. He chose to Destroy the Reapers.

End of story. That's all it means.

Why would I say no to the best ending?

Well, people should loosen up and not take things personally or as gospel. Though my stance is firm, I'll take a good ribbing on it. No worries.

Because your definition of "best" isn't necessarily the same as everyone else's?

Bioware has decreed there are no canon endings. Until they say otherwise, you have no reason to worry.

Feel free to make those threads. I'm not against destroy canon, and I am not 100% against control canon as a distant 2nd option. Therefore, no threads.

Because it's non-sensical, doesn't solve his problem, and has no right to be in Mass Effect?

If synthesis is canonized, it would be horrible. I don't like the idea of everyone living alongside husks, marauders, and banshees. Its just sick.

Where did you hear about synthesis being canon?

And Taboo, how would synthesis happen if the Reapers, and I assume Starchild, are destroyed?

Why would anyone want a canon ending? Wouldn't that be an incredibly stupid thing to do?

One of the endings has to be canon, right? Doesn't something here have to be 'historical' fact in the future ME 'verse? Like, the reapers did exist and were dealt with in some fashion?

Or can it all be forgotten and addressed in a throwaway line specific to each player?
