Oh how satisfying it will be if Synthesis does end up being canon in any hypothetical post-ME3 game.

It's interesting that synthesis is the only ending choice that is being actively bashed and persecuted on these boards. Never mind those who chose to be tyrannical galactic despots, mass murderers of the geth, or mass murderers of every single advanced sentient species in the galaxy. The vibe I am getting is that it is being bashed because it is supposedly "BioWare's ending".
Give it a rest: there is no canon. It's clear that the ME universe after Shepard is left for us to decide, not the developers. Any future ME sequel would probably be looking at prequels.

I thought Synthesis was a nice ending.
It kinda looked like Battlestar Galactica ending. A mixed race of cylon-humans finally living together and making a new race, a new beginning, a new future.
All of this has happened before and all of this will happen again lol
That's cool beans. I know that people do enjoy it. But it being a 'nice ending'... it's apparently just beginning.

To proof synthesis is bad, let's observe the endings, first watch this and then watch this, and give the simple anwser in which sequence the Soldiers fare better?

Yes, and that's why I like it. It's the Dawn of an Era. I don't think there should be a canonical ending (which means I think there shouldn't be a sequel) but I'd definitely say yes rather than no.ShepnTali wrote...

Maybe they'll go the Deus Ex route and make all 3 of them canon, somehow, for some unexplicable reason.ShepnTali wrote...
One of the endings has to be canon, right? Doesn't something here have to be 'historical' fact in the future ME 'verse? Like, the reapers did exist and were dealt with in some fashion?
Or can it all be forgotten and addressed in a throwaway line specific to each player?

Given the fact that you people seem to have nothing better to do with your lives than to bash an ending you don't like and to insult anyone who chooses it, well, I sure will be! And all the better if it grinds your collective gears. I find it vastly amusing at this point that there are people who actually seem to find it necessary to make it their life's mission to keep complaining about a game ending that they aren't choosing and aren't forced to choose.
But have fun murdering all life in the galaxy through choosing not to act or murdering all synthetic life by choice- whatever it is that you people do for the sake of your awe-inspiring "principles." *sarcasm* I'll stick with radical change and evolutionary advancement that leads to peace (because even if it's unrealistic, it's considerably more enlightened than your alternatives).

If there's a ME4 made (IF. Note the word 'if') set after the triology, it will need to adress either choice, with perhaps a choice ade for you if you don't import a save (whcih could very well be synthesis).
Personally I prefer to destroy the damn reapers for a whole bunch of reasons, but I can see why people choose synthesis (control not so much)

You can understand how someone would want to live and have sex with abominations.
But 1 entity controlling the Reapers and guarding the galaxy is just too much for you.

Why would you have sex with Abominations? Did you had sex with Hanars before the Reapers invaded?
My point is that not every creatures can mate together and that is just fine. Now, if Abominations after sythesis are peaceful, they are very free to be constructive part of the new society, even if we can't have sex with them lol.
So i see no problem having a peaceful Banshee living near my house like i had no problem having a Hanar living next to me before... Both are ugly and so what?

It use to be a person, now it is an abomination.
That could have your daughter or wife, do you really want it still breathing?

Seen that way, it may look terrible i agree. But the truce that synthesis brings saves million others and it breaks the cycle of machine vs organics for the time being ( maybe forever? ).
I think it is a worthy choice in the end.
