I would romance Shale or the Arishok.
I'm not sure it would be healthy but they are so charismatic.
Maybe a chaste romance would work.
Killing pigeon hands in hands that kind of thing...

It can work. We just have to chisel Shale down a bit.

I'd like to just see them in the games at this point. I could understand not seeing female kossith in DA2, but if we do end up going to Par Vollen anywhere, it wouldn't make sense to only see male kossith. As for female dwarves, I still don't get why they couldn't be in DA2.

There was no reason to exclude female dwarves from the last game, and since the female dwarven characters we met in DA:O (like Dagna, Felsi, and Sigrun) were enjoyable, something was definitely missing from my experience of DA2.

I missed them too.

I missed them so much that I didn't even realized that there was no female dwarf in DA2 until I read this thread lol
And I've played DA2 5 times...I guess I wasn't paying attention to that.

I want some sweeeeeet dwarven lovin´

My first, my last, my everything.
And the answer to all my dreams.
You're my sun, my moon, my guiding star.
My kind of wonderful, that's what you are

I know there's only, only one like you.
There's no way, they could have made two
You're all I'm living for,
Your love I'll keep for evermore,
You're the first, you're the last, my everything.

(Female that is)

Sparks could fly.  Though if they show too much fracking, it would be all over the news.

Y'know, Shale is technically a dwarf.

WAS a dwarf before being turned into a golem. That being said, it would be a great opportunity to let our past choices in earlier games to matter if they added here as a companion (LI or not), and letting her appearance there as a golem or dwarf depending on your choises in DA:O.

I noticed on my first game, as soon as I got to Kirkwall, after the conversation with Varric.  There were no ladies around that little "dwarf corner" in Hightown.  For some reason I thought I would see some in the Blooming Rose, so I looked around in there.  It made no sense.  They had no problem making female dwarf models in the first game, why would they leave them out this time around?

I pretty much did the same thing. I wanted to see what kind of changes they had made to the design of the female dwarves... I was disappointed.

Maybe...they forgot? Lol Because I sure did. I always thought they wee in the Blooming Rose too, and Hanged Man, but never actually looked for them. This is so weird...

Well, I'm not depesoerate to romance a dwarf now. Sure, I wanted a dwarf romance in Origins, when I played a dwarf, but as a human..not really. Unless they're as cool as Varric, of course :innocent:

I might be in the minority but I am actually quite tired of elves and would totally be ok with seeing less of them if other races were shown more instead. I find elf culture to be quite boring when compared to the culture of dwarves or kossith.
In addition I not only find elves to be ugly ( elves in DA2) but I also think they look way more childlike than dwarves. I think someone else said the same point earlier.

Well, he didn't straight up say no. So there's that.

Personally, I really, really just want to see female dwarves included in the game again. There is a logical lore based reason for not seeing female kossith in Ferelden and Kirkwall. If we were visiting Par Vollen, however, I would definitely expect to see females.

There was no reason to exclude female dwarves from the last game, and since the female dwarven characters we met in DA:O (like Dagna, Felsi, and Sigrun) were enjoyable, something was definitely missing from my experience of DA2.

When it comes to romances, however, I'd prefer to wait and see, rather than ask to be catered to.

Great post.

I am no expert on Qunari, as I loathe their whole way off thinking, behaviour and attitude (and I hope DA4: Exalted March will wipe the Qun from the map/drive them into the sea...)

But aren't there those rogue-Qunari abroad, doing bandit-stuff and mercenary work? Why not having a sensible and clever female kossith going abroad to Orlais, abandoning the wrong ways of her people and becoming more than their silly doctrines demand of her? Female Tal-Vashoth for the win!

That would be a nice female Kossith I want to meet...but please for all means no more Arishoks and Stens...I have enough of their babbling...

I believe I said it already, but just so you know:
Female Kossith. RAWR. MIAOW. GROWL. PURR. [Various other animal noises that might express the need to mate]
She doesn't necessarily have to be Qunari, but I do like myself a stoic female. As long as she's bi, I'll squeal like a little kid on christmas.

Seriously. The DA 2 concept art for the female Kossith is so damn attractive to me, it's downright ridiculous.

On another note: I admit that I played DA 2 about five times now and I never noticed that there weren't any female dwarves. I was probably too blinded by Varric's manly chest hair.

The Tal-Vashot abandons the "wrong ways" of their people. The problem is that the majority of the Tal-Vashots we saw were probably warriors before, so the only way they have to make money and survive is being mercenaries. The Tal-Vashot the Warden met in DAA was a merchant because he was a merchant in the Qun.
And the Arishok was better than the majority of Kirkwall population, including at least 3 of the 4 big head of the city.

When it comes to romances, I'd rather request a well developed romance that feels like it progresses naturally and actually relies on a reasonable development of a connection between the characters in order for a romance to develop. Personally, I thought DA2's romances felt wholly awkward and very rushed. "Hi, nice to meet you, {dodgy pick up line}, hey let's make out" wasn't far from the reality.

Of course {shameless plug} for those who are desperate to romance a dwarf, you'll get that opportunity in my DA:O mod The Shattered War when it's released. :) {/shameless plug}

Yeah, he was so nice burning down the city and killing all those people after Kirkwall gave him shelter so many years...just for a stupid book. I ould have loved if Hawke could have tore the book to pieces before killing him and his goons...no, I really don't like the Qunari, I can't help it...

Annyway, my point stands: A female Kossith outside of Par Vollen I have no problem with, as it is the unusual and different that makes characters more memorable...so an "apostate" Female Kossith, maybe even as true Squad-Member, would be cool for me

First, he didn't want to burn city and kill the people of the city. He would've conquered the city, offered them the choice to joining the Qun or working in the caves for the rest of their lives. As Fenris said to Isabela, qunari don't waste resources.
Second, he didn't want to conquer the city for the book. He couldn't leave the town without the book. So he was forced to remain in Kirkwall, and he couldn't contain no long his disgust for the town. He wanted to cleanse the city from the corruption, in the qunari way. And while I don't think the qunari are perfect (and the fact that the Arishok couldn't leave the town because he was responsible for the book is just plain stupid, the same goes for Sten and his sword in DAO), I agree with the Arishok on his judgement about Kirkwall.
Kirkwall rapresented the worst side of the mages, the templars, the nobles. The city was corrupted, completely driven by chaos, with templars who could do whatever they wanted and mages that resorted to blood magica almost everytime. The head ot the Templar Order was driven mad by idol, and the First Enchanter kept quiet on experiments on human beings (although outside of the Circle). The city needed a Holy March more than the qunari.

Anyway, I agree that a female Kossith would be cool. I'd like if she'll be a mage in this case, since there are lower chances that a kossith mage would resort to blood magic or becoming an abomination.

Insofar as romances with dwarves go, we might add one at some point-- for the right character. I've joked about finding dwarf romance icky in the past, but I have no particular objection so long as the dwarf in question doesn't look child-like.

I don't think that would be hard. I don't think I've ever seen a dwarf that looks like a child. Most dwarf men tend to have beards and most dwarf women tend to be very curvaceous. There's nothing very childlike about them, except for their size.

People that use that excuse need to stop. Elves are a few inches taller then dwarves, and are as thin (child like built) as elves. Funny how no one says that it's creepy romancing elves.
