Lol I hadn't noticed that before but now that you mention it, there might be another size issue to contend with

You mean they only have these big beards because they need to compensate for something? xD

No female dwarves in the game? Anywhere? Seriously? I understand time and resource constraints but that just made the game seem genuinely unfinished.
That said, the "Those Who Speak" comic part 1 alludes to Varric's cousin being married to a human, so at least I can sleep at night knowing Mr. Gaider isn't completely anti-dwarf-with-other-races love.
As someone who's 15 inches shorter than my husband in real life (I know I've said it before, but still) I think the "too short/that's weird" argument is more than just a little silly. it's adorable. Deal with it.

Romancing Merril seemed to creepy to romance due to her behavior and not knowing how old she is.ShadyKat wrote...

People that use that excuse need to stop. Elves are a few inches taller then dwarves, and are as thin (child like built) as elves. Funny how no one says that it's creepy romancing elves.

Something I would really like is that the Kossiths had their horns removed..... I always prefered the more humanized version, they could have also some racial features remarked to make more different from humans, but I never liked the redesign they had on DA2.

The first time I romanced merril I thought she was sweet and naive, never once did her being child like cross my mind till I started seeing it on these forums. This just goes to show how some people's minds are in the gutter.

Second I think the inclusion of female dwarves is required for this next game to make any sense. How can Bioware explain excluding half a species.

She's was the Keeper's First. I doubt that the Keeper's first would be a 10-15years old boy/girl.
Plus, you could romance her after 4 years you entered Kirkwall (4 years after the Dalish Elf Origins). Even if she was 15-16 in Act 1 (which she isn't), she was 18-19 in Act 2.

First I am pretty sure a company as smart as Bioware can figure out a way to explain female Kossith. For example, they could make her a tal-vashoth mercenary.

the way i see it, qunari's differentiation of man and woman is more about role than gender, for a qunari a soldier is a man's role and a female individual may be a soldier in the Qun but she would be considered and viewed as a man in qunari terms.

Also it should only take a quarter of your brain power to deduce bioware is not going to let you flirt and have Intimate relations with a Child, seeing how it's highly illegal to be portrayed in any type of media.Auu the filth that the mind formulates.

As far as romances go regarding dwarfs and kossith I don't have a problem with either, as long as the potential LI's personality is interesting and the voice acting is good, I'm cool with it.

What rumors and pictures I've seen floating around so far... I don't like the female Kossith's design. They look like a slightly larger human woman with horns. I was expecting something a little closer to the male design... You know, larger, buffer, not as... dainty in the waist and such, I suppose.
Well, they're not warriors, like all the male Qunari we've seen are.

Neither are all the dwarves, but the dwarven gals aren't dainty things with tapered waists. Body structure isn't the same thing as muscle development from labor or fighting. I think the new selected aesthetic was chosen because it was pretty, not because it was interesting and appropriate. But, this is just based on rumor and small pictures. I could be wrong. I guess it remains to be seen.

Many people on this forum (including me) have been hinting that we want dwarves to be romanceable (Varric) and want to see a female kossith. What concerns me is the fact that we made the same requests before DA2 and none of them were implemented. I have two questions. Do you think that Bioware will implement those requests? Also why the resistance from Bioware? P.S. I would also love to have a Kossith LI but I doubt that Bioware would implement both dwarven LI and Kossith LI in the same game.
People make a lot of requests, particularly when it comes to romance. Heck, if we mentioned that we'd added a mailbox into the game someone would request a romance with it. So the fact that dwarven romances or female kossith (and/or romances with female kossith) have been requested by some is hardly remarkable.
Insofar as romances with dwarves go, we might add one at some point-- for the right character. I've joked about finding dwarf romance icky in the past, but I have no particular objection so long as the dwarf in question doesn't look child-like.
Insofar as female kossith go, we might also add one at some point. That would be awesome. I think their concept looks hawt.
Why haven't we done either of these things yet? Because we're doing other things, and we don't create whole plots or characters on demand nor do we do something solely because it hasn't been done. Eventually we're likely to do both.
W'hat about Merril looking child-like in DA2?

I'm with you on this too...I tried on three different occasions to try a playthrough on Origins with an Elf.But I just find their race and culture to be pretty boring.Dwarven culture is much more interesting and Kossith/Qunari culture is even more interesting then dwarven culture. But for some reason I always like playing as a human in most race selection type games like Origins and The Elder Scrolls.Except for Oblivion...Argonian all the wayRebellion99 wrote...

I might be in the minority but I am actually quite tired of elves and would totally be ok with seeing less of them if other races were shown more instead. I find elf culture to be quite boring when compared to the culture of dwarves or kossith.
In addition I not only find elves to be ugly ( elves in DA2) but I also think they look way more childlike than dwarves. I think someone else said the same point earlier.

I prefer the concept art female Kossith from DA2. The other comic one(don't know where it's from) is good too.

He believes (or did once) that dwarven women look child-like, something I simply don't agree with. Every dwarven woman in DA:O looked like a voluptuous mature woman. To me, they were the most "adult" looking females in the game. That never seemed like an issue. Is it the height, then? Dwarven women come up to the chest of a human, that's not so small. That isn't unsexably short if I may be so bold. My Warden didn't let it stop her, I can tell you that. Dwarven men are as manly as can be too. What's the big deal about their appearance?
These seem like weak deflections to avoid having to deal with the dwarven romance issue. Not having a proper dwarven romance is a glaring omission to me, since human and elf romances are plentiful. It looks with this omission as though BioWare is playing favorites with the races, and that's not cool.
Having the "right" romance for a dwarf also makes me wonder. What does that mean? I am concerned that it could mean that the right romance is only dwarf-dwarf, to protect the devs from having to get grossed out at the thought of dwarves mixing with elves and humans or even kossith. I don't want the potential dwarf romance to be given short shrift, treated as an afterthought or a dirty secret, and only available to another dwarf (assuming we ever get to play dwarves again). A dwarf-dwarf romance would be great, but not if it is the only option and dwarves aren't allowed to romance other races.
Just give dwarves their due, romance-wise, that's all I want. It's only fair.

Agreed, the mention of a dwarf/human marriage gives me hope too. Varric's cousin is just the right height to show a human woman a good time, as Ohgren would say.
