If I  install the disks to the hard drive, and I am connected to EA to play the game anyway, why do I still need to swap disks all the time, talk about a pain in the ass!

I don't like it either, but it is a necessary evil if you want to play the game without the *beep* origin client.

You lost me, I thought that the Xbox was always connected to the client

You need an origin account in order to play MP, but the main difference between PC and Xbox version is that you don't have to download some rubbish client (that scans your PC BTW)

All Xbox games require you to have the disk in the drive to play them, regardless of being installed to the HDD. It's so you don't install the game and give the disk to your friend, thus taking a potential sale away from the publisher. The benefit of installing to the HDD is reduced loading times and a quieter system. (No spinning disk)

That fair enough I suppose, but if you have to have an online pass to play the game from the publisher anyway, you should be able to ignore the disk check. I can see the point if its a single disk game, but not when its a mutli disk.
