I have to admit that I'm generally pretty happy with my ISP. Can't wait for when the National Fiber-Optic Broadband Network finally comes to my suburb though. :D

Yeah I can't either. I wouldn't care so much if I could just get ADSL2. But I can't. I'm fairly sure the NBN will be installed in my location in about a year's time. >.< Even then I'm not sure if I'll be able to get it.

I'm amazed at how average the average speed is.  Mine isn't great (check out the Scandinavian's or Koreans) but decent, but I thought gamers would generally be above average speeds.  I did run into one guy who claimed to be playing on a mobile dongle  Which would explain the lag that game...

I am actually really close to my exchange, and my ISP guaranteed me at least 10 meg, and up to 18. Bunch of merchant bankers, nobody in the area can get above 5 unless they go to BT infinity, probably why BT wont upgrade the rubbish quality phone lines, so everybody has to go to them for fiber-optic.

This isnt great?! UK's broadband network is crap, BT throttles anyone not using them (unless it's Virgin). I would kill to have a Virgin connection out here, I did at uni and it was fantastic.

EDIT: Woops Didn't realise it was Londond on BT -_- they do 100MB Fibre Optic there now too? If only BT weren't total pricks to their customers...

Just moved to an apartment and started with a different ISP. Had this one before and the company is very good. The wireless with the last one was so bad that I had to use a cable on my laptop for long periods to have usable internet.

warning about comcast, they have frequent disconnects 1-3 times daily where you have to reset your modem to re-establish a connection. Its annoying, but I think they do it to stop the torrenters.

Parts of the UK are great, other parts not so good...  Not sure about the ****** part, BT seem ok to me?  Just i look at mate's BT Infinity speeds, and they're all better :(

I was actually looking at a Bonded broadband line, as it's significantly less than a leased line, but far more stable, and you get fantastic upload and latency.

Yeah.:crying:

I cant host because anyone that joins goes into the vanguard glitch. Had it happen to a human engineer once.:pinched:

It isnt so bad when I join a game though.

That isn't true of comcast in my area; it is probably just your modem.  My sb6120 times out maybe once every 3 days and I only notice by looking at the logs.

Is that one that is the size of an xbox practically? If you are paying a rental fee, you should buy your own asap. I upgraded mine after having a sb5100 for about 6 years and just got tired of looking at it-though it was pretty good at not timing out too and I only got about 10% increase in dowload/upload from the new one.
