People tend to download more (a lot more) than they upload, so the whole system focuses on dowload speeds.

C'mon guys. It's 2014. You're telling me people still believe that a one-time ping test is going to explain why you have a better or crap gameplay? Unless you issue is consistent, you'd have to run a longer-term network metering test to catch intermittent problems. Also, unless you are using a B-grade (or lower) wireless device, having a wireless system is almost negligible when compared to a wired system. Unless you have your pc/console on the outskirt of the wireless radius, latency shouldn't be too much of an issue. In that case, you should've been running a repeater or alternate router anyway. Just because you have a good internet connection (WAN/TCP) doesn't mean you don't have major issues on your internal network (LAN). There are one-click game optimizers out there (Google it). $150-300 and a trip to Walmart, you can upgrade your old router/modem and wireless adapters to N-grade. Most of the stuff you can upgrade cheaply by buying it online if you're willing to wait on the shipping.

What I said applied back in 2012. It applied even further back when wireless devices were G-grade/class.

Didn't say it was wrong or that it didn't apply.
I just doubt that the people who debated this more than a year ago will read that.

And lol N-grade routers aren't going to make a bit of difference if your cities only DSL provider is garbage.  If you have cable it's different, but I'm betting most of the bad connections are DSL.

Well, in his defense, he seems to be from the states. I've had people with great connection being poor hosts for us european, simply cause there was an ocean between us :P

Techno said she isn't sure whether she prefers my host or his, and she's from the states as well. lol

Yeah it's not always like that, but in my experience it varies greatly. But sometimes it's a huge factor.

Also, Techno is a grill? Didn't know!
