I never host, so never bothered to find out what was going on. You probably played the most games on my host lol.

With roommates streaming netflix, etc. when I play, I am not surprised that my host is miserable.

And lol N-grade routers aren't going to make a bit of difference if your cities only DSL provider is garbage.  If you have cable it's different, but I'm betting most of the bad connections are DSL.

You just repeated what I said in an opposite manner. Congrats(?). Your network from internal to external is only as fast as the slowest attached devices. If you have a crap WAN speed then of course you'll have a crap gaming experience. I never said 'replacing all your internal devices will make your internet faster'. People have to first identify their bottlenecks (internal (LAN), external (WAN), or both) and adjust accordingly. When I mentioned wireless devices I was referring more to the myth that 'wireless adapters and controllers have a worse response time than wired'. If you are still using sub-par legacy devices, then it will impact your response time (latency).

Don't know if that is good or bad, but I'm paying for 100 Mbps download but I guess it's because I use wireless connection and have so many things using the Internet at the same time

Those speedtests can't be right. 2.8mbps/0.1mbps/115ms (DL/UL/Ping). lol

Edit: nvm that's to some server in Atlanta. 

lolpeaesstree test says 32.7 Mbps DL and 7.9 Mbps UL and that changes every time lol
